Wm. Prosser died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Steele, at Chester, Sunday (Jun. 11, 1899). He died from the results of a fall off a hay rick. Six children survive – Mrs. Samuel Steele, Mrs. Maria Van Ostrand and William and George, of Grant district; Mrs. Wallace Simms, of East Liverpool, and Mrs. John Robb, of Toronto. He was a member of the Church of Christ, of East Liverpool.

The funeral took place at 2:30 Monday afternoon; burial was in the Flat's cemetery.
