Charles Richard Shuman, 82, of New Cumberland passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
He was born December 18, 1926 in Sistersville, a son of the late John and Mary Rice Shuman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Freeman Shuman and a sister, Ruth Wells.
Richard retired from Globe Brick where he worked as a kiln fireman’s helper.
He is survived by five brothers, Robert Shuman, Kenneth Shuman, and Donald (Ruth) Shuman of New Cumberland, Tom Shuman of East Liverpool and Gene (Sue) Shuman of Pennsboro; a sister, Mildred (Charles) Riggleman of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 8 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with Pastor Carolyn Hardy officiating. Private interment followed at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
