Mrs. Katharine A. Smoot of 903 W. 8th St. died Monday at 6 a.m. at her home following a lengthy illness. She wa 63.
Born in East Liverpool June 24, 1902, daughter of the late George W. Johnson and Sarah Etta Ormes Johnson, she was a member of the Sheridan Ave. AME Church and Order of Eastern Star.
She leaves her husband, Henry M. Smoot, at home; a son, Henry M. Smoot Fr. Of Charleston, W. Va.; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Barnes of Canton, and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday.
John Washington Chapter, 68, Order of Eastern Star, will conduct services at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
