ARCHIE E. HUFF CLAIMED AT 53

Pughtown Postmaster Was Ill For 2 Months

Archie E. Huff, Pughtown postmaster, died Saturday at 11 a.m., in his home, following a two-months illness.
A son of Sherman Huff and Mary Pugh Huff, he was born April 7, 1897, in Chester. He resided in Pughtown for 27 years and conducted a general store for many years. The business is now owned by his son, Ralph Huff.
Mr. Huff was a member of the session and the board of deacons of the Pughtown Presbyterian Church. He was active in Grange circles in Hancock County.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Helen Ferguson Huff; and another son, Neil Huff of Weirton Heights; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Watson of New Cumberland, and Mrs. J. M. Baron of Weirton; two brothers, Ray Huff and Ulysses Huff, both of Chester and two grandchildren.
Rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the church by Rev. William Flurkey. Birila will be in Union Cemetery there.
Friends may call at the Stewart and Turley Funeral Home, New Cumberland, until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
