Rev. Marcus Trough, 82, Retired Pastor

Services were held Monday for the Rev. Marcus Trough of 660 Congress Ave., Star City, W. Va., who died Saturday, Sept. 24, 1988 at the Monongalia General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born at Talkington Fort, W. Va., a son of the late Joseph W. Trough and Mary Allen Trough.
A frequent visitor in Chester and Newell churches, Rev. Trough was ordained in 1943 and retired from the West Virginia Methodist Conference in 1972. He had served churches in Tyler, Marion, Harrison, Randolph, Mason, Mingo, Kanawha and Wayne counties.
A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, he was founder and president of the Center Point Cemetery Association. He was a 50-year membeeeer of Friendship Masonic Lodge 56 of West Run; Ruth Chapter 7, Order of Eastern Star; and an honorary member of the Matewan Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Inatha Ashcraft Trough, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Crystal Lee) Estiack of Morgantown; a son, Marcus Trough Jr. of Rockingham, N. C.; a sister, Vell Wasson of Wheatland, Pa.; two brothers, Jacob M. Trough of Sharon, Pa., and Joseph L. Trough of Desert Hot Springs, Calif; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Center Point Cemetery. The family suggests memorial tribtes take the form of Contributions to the Center Point Cemetery Association, box 11, Center Point, W. Va. 26339
