M. Imogene Brooks Carnes, 78, of Allison Rd, Chester, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the home of her son on Echo Dell RD, East Liverpool following a lengthy illness.
Gene was a daughter of the late Joseph Frank Tittle and Della Blaine Lloyd Tittle and was born in Greenville, TN on June 11, 1932.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
Gene’s first husband, Kenneth R. Brooks Sr. preceded her in death along with four brothers and three sisters.
Her husband Lawrence Carnes survives along with one son, Kenneth. R. Brooks Fr. And his wife Frances of East Liverpool and three daughters, Phyliss Cracraf and Barbara Brooks, both of Youngstown, and Marilyn Armstrong of East Liverpool, In addition eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with Pastor Wagner of the church officiating. Interment followed at Locust Hill Cemetery.
