Betty Jane Sticco, 86, of Summerfield, FL passed away March 29, 2011. She was born February 26, in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of the late Edwin H. Mathis and Alma B. Thomas Mathis.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward H. Mathis Jr.; her husband August J. Sticco; and a stepson, Rancy DeSimone.
She was catholic by faith and attended St. Timothy’s Church. She retired from Weirton Steel Co. where she worked for 29 years.
Surviving are a nephew, Dale E. Mathis of Hilton Head Island, SC; a stepson, Virgil A. DeSimone of Weirton; and two stepdaughters, Linda J. Alley of Weirton and Gina Bichard of Cambridge. She had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland. There will be private interment of ashes in the family plot at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
At Betty’s request memorial donations may be made to a hospice or the American Heart Association.
