Vonlie Cooper, 71, of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011.
He was born August 8, 1939 in Ritchie Coutny, WV, a son of the late Earl and Ethel (White) Cooper.
He retired after working 33 years for Weirton Steel, as an electrician and on the railroad and was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Belle Cooper; an infant daughter, Tina Renee Cooper and two grandsons, Christopher and Corey Cooper and a sister, Belva Nell Cooper Barnhart.
Surviving is his wire, Lillian Jenkins Cooper of New Cumberland; three daughters, Laura (David) Hudson of Follansbee, Mary (Dallas) Yeater of Sistersville and Kathy (Charles) Mayhew of Weirton; five sons, William Cooper and James Cooper , both of Weirton; Kenneth cooper and Scott (Peggy ) Cooper, all of Sistersville and Randy Cooper of Weirton; two step-sons, Gary (Tammy) Jenkins of New Cumberland and Gregg Jenkins of Mansfiled, OH; a step-daughter, Lisa Jenkins of Weirton; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; a brother, Earl Cooper of Chester; two sisters, Elouise Cooper White of Florida and Mary Ellen Cooper Rainey of Weirton, and several nieces nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland.
Burial followed at New Cumberland Cemetery.
