BYHANNA, JAMES W. 76, of West Liberty, WV, died Friday, November 9, 2001, at his daughter’s home in Wheeling. He was born August 11, 1925, in Bethany, WV, a son of the late James Shafter and Anna (Wells) Byhanna. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche (Gilbert) Byhanna; two sisters, Betty Byhanna and Vista Craft. He was retired from Wheeling Steel in Washington, PA, where he worked as a machinist. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy Sea Bee’s. Surviving are two sons, James E. Byhanna of Warwood, WV, and Timothy A. Byhanna of Wheeling; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Rebecca) McKee of Wheeling and Mrs. David (Della) Woodrubn Karnich of Weirton; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being made by Chambers Funeral Home, Main Street, Wellsburg, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Memorial Squad.
