LEMAL, THOMAS JOSEPH, 79, of Brightwood Center, formerly of Main Street, Follansbee, WV, died January 4, 2001, in Weirton Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1922, in Weirton, a son of the late Michael and Florence Murray Lemal; and his wife, Lucille Whitting Clark Lemal. He was retired from Conrail, where he was a brakeman and a conductor. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served on the first landing craft in Normandy. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Steubenville; the Wellsburg Moose, Follansbee and Wellsburg veterans of Foreign Wars, Follansbee; WV; Wellsburg American Legion; and the Fraternal Order of Police, Steubenville, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Whitting Clark Lemal. Surviving are two sons, Norman “Sonny” Clarke and his wife, Sylvia of Follansbee and Thomas Lemal and his wife, Barbara Lemal of Follansbee, WV; two daughters, Dorothy “Dolly” Camerlin and her husband, Richard of Newell, WV; and Naomi Cochran of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, James Lemal and his wife, Peggy of Weirton and John Lemal and his wife, Theresa of Steubenville, Oh; and 12 grandchildren. Arrangements made by Reasner Funeral Home, Charles Street, Wellsburg, WV. Interment in Union Cemetery, Steubenville, with full military rights by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
