James Harriel of 315 Penn Ave., Midland, a retired employe of the Midland Works of the Crucible Steel Co, died Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the home after an illness of seven months. He was 81.
He was born Aug. 17, 1884, at Pembroke, Ky., and resided in Midland for 40 years. He was a member of the Midland First Baptist Church and a member of the board of trustees.
He leaves six daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Lee Nunn, Mrs. Esther Thompson, Mrs. Ruth Williams and Mrs. Ruby Fleming, all of Midland, Mrs. Catherine Knighton of Canton and Mrs. Florien Spruell of East St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, James Harriel Jr. of Beaver Falls and Eric Harriel of Midland; 29 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Midland church by the Rev. James Curry. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Industry.
Friends may call at the Leavell funeral Home in Midland Friday afternoon and night.
