Mrs. Mary L. March of 1207 Pennsylvania Ave., widow of Lindsey Edwin March, died this morning at 8:30 at Geraldine’s Rest Home. She had been in failing health for some time. She was 81.
Mrs. Mach was born Oct. 16, 1884, in Yellow Creek Township to the late Daniel S. MacGillivray and Josephine Williams MacGillivary. She formerly lived at 511 Grand St., Newell until 1962 when she moved to East Liverpool to reside with a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Grace) Mahon. She was married Nov. 2, 1907, at which time she and husband established their home in Newell. Her husband died Oct. 19, 1957.
She once taught at Madison Township School and the New Salisbury School. She was graduated from Wellsville High School in 1904 and attended Ypsilanti (Mich.) State Normal College. She was a member of the Newell Presbyterian Church and its Aide and Missionary Society and Newell Rebekah Lodge 74.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, John E. March of Lisbon, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence B. March, in 1925 and a daughter, Frances Kathryn March in 1962.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Haddock. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
