MCCORD, OPAL FOSTER, 95, of Wellsburg, WV, died Friday, September 7, 2001, at Tanbark Health Care Center in Lexington, KY. She was born November 1, 1905 in Lookout, WV, a daughter of the late Norvel and Martha Brock Foster. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl McCord in 1980; a brother; Clyde Foster; and two sisters; Frankie Hall and Gertrude Light. Opal was a retired Brooke County School Teacher having taught from 1925 to 1970. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsburg; A membr of the WV retired school Employee Association, Wellsburg Civic League, Eastern Star No. 23 of Wellsburg, Ohio Valley Auxiliary, and the Delta Kappa Gamma So. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Roger (Sandra Hall) Hartner of Lancaster, KY; a great-niece and nephew, Heather Corman and Reed Hartner both of Lexington, KY; several cousins, Mary Pulen of Charleston, WV George Pulen of Clemson, SC and Paul Pulen of Roanoke, VA. Arrangements made by Chambers Funeral Home, Main Street, Wellsburg, WV. Interment will follow in Kadesh Chapel Cemetery in Beech Bottom. WV.
