Pat Martin Mills Blackwell, 69, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
Born September 27, 1941 in St. Marys, she was a daughter of the late Milford and Alice (Cadegan) Martin.
She was a member of the New Manchester and New Cumberland P.T.A., held various offices in Rhododendron Rebecca Lodge No. 11 and was District Deputy President for two years. She served on the Bicentennial Committee, along with her husband, Jim and mother-in-law, Ruth Blackwell and formed the New Cumberland Fireworks Committee and put on the first fireworks show in New Cumberland.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Mills, tow daughters, Shelly Herron and Russella Mills and her youngest son, Jeremy Blackwell.
Surviving are her sons, John (Robin) Mills of Virginia, Munch (Dineen) Mills of New Cumberland and Jason Blackwell and companion, Paula Harrison of Hopewell, PA; ex-husband, Jim Blackwell of New Cumberland; eleven grandchildren, Gave, Brittany, Michelle, Nicco, Zachary, Tori, Madison, Haley, Noah, Austin and Tyler; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Lillianna; five brothers, Russell, Danny, and Ron Martin all of New Cumberland, Manford Martin of Florida, and Gial Martin of Weirton and three sisters, Eileen Tingler of Tennessee, Idella Grimes of New Cumberland and Allison Martin of Moundsville.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland. Rev. Bob Staub officiated. Burial followed in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
