William C. Harris, 82, of Negley, R.D.1, a retired farmer, died at City Hospital Wednesday about 5:30 p.m. after an illness of three years.
He was born in Ritchie County, W. Va., Sept. 24,1884, a son of the late William Harris and Jane Plum Harris. At one time Mr. Harris was an oil field worker. He came to Negley from Akron about 13 years ago. He was a member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Rogers.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lou Etta Larch Harris at home: a son, Melvin L. Harris of East Liverpool; three sisters, Mrs. Delpha Perkins of Burgettstown, Mrs. Verna Monroe and Mrs. Clara Bailey, both of East Liverpool; four brothers, Salls Harris of Chester, Mack Harris and Tice Harris, both of Arp, Tex., and Julius Harris of East Liverpool; five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at eh East Liverpool Arner Home For Funerals by the Rev. George Watkins. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens near Rogers.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and Friday.
