Mrs. Ruby Cooper Simpson, 81, of 18081/2 Clark Ave., Wellsville, widow of Herman Simpson, died Saturday at 5:40 p.m. at East Liverpool Osteopathic Hospital, where she had been a patient since Jan. 6.
A native of Shreman, W. Va., Mrs. Simpson was born Oct. 3, 1887, a daughter of the late Ruben and Mary Rector Cooper. She had resided in Wellsville more than 70 years and last was employed as a waredresser at the Sterling China Co., retiring in 1952. AT one time she worked at the former U.S. Pottery Co. in Wellsville. She was a member of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church and an honorary member of the IBOP. Her husband died in 1956.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Ruth) Fraser of Wellsville; a son, Charles E. Simpson of East Rochester, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the MacLean funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. John R. Dryer. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and tonight.
