SALINEVILLE – Henry George Surmaceviz, 72, of Clarks Mill Road, died at 10:37 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Salem Community Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Salineville June 27, 1928, a son of the late Walter and Surmacevic and Stefaniya Gryzmala.
He worked as a clay miner at various local mines and was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Snay Surmacevik; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Barbara) Smith of Wellsville and Mrs. William (Kimberley) Price of Salineville; three sons, Terry Surmaceviz and Perry Surmacevic of Lisbon and George Surmaceviz of Salineville; a sister, Mrs. John (Sophia) Chevront of East Liverpool; a half brother, Joseph Gryzmala of Salineville; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild..
Arrangements are pending at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home.
