Mrs. Margaret Balon
Mrs. Margaret Balon, 45, 122 Powers road, died of complication at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She had been in failing health for one year.
She was born May 11, 1916 in Rush Run, the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Pozok Ellis. She had been a resident of Weirton since 1928.
Mrs. Balon was a member of the Cove United Presbyterian church, Myrlle Mellendry Sunday school and Women's Association of the church.
She was married to Hubert L. Balon, May 18, 1935, who survives.
Other survivors are: one son, Thomas Balon, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Chihocky and Mrs. Terrance (Carolyn) Weller, both of Weirton; two brothers, Gezel Ellis, Rush Run and Richard Ellis, Weirton and three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Velma) Lasson, Mrs. Michael (Julia) Sholtis and Mrs. Fiorant (Elizabeth) Monseau, all of Weirton. Two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends are being received at the Schwerha Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Schwerha Chapel with the Rev. G. Ousley Brown, DD. officiating.
Burial will be made in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Alfred Joseph Balon
Alfred Joseph Balon, 71, of 86 West Beau street, Washington, Pa., died Thursday, December 24, at 2:20 p.m. at the Washington Hospital. He had been in ill health since September. He died of complications.
He was born June 14, 1888, in France, the son of the late Arthur Frances and Julianne Delback Balon.
His wife, Henrietta Monseau preceded him in death in 1924.
He retired from the Tin Mill department of Weirton Steel in 1955, where he was a member of 25 year club and the Independent Steelworkers Union. He made his home in Washington, Pa. with his daughter, Mrs. Jack Donahue.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Jack (Charlotte) Donahue, Washington, Pa. and Mrs. Matthew (Alberta) Guzzetta, of Weirton; two sons; Hubert Balon Weirton, and Alfred (Balon) Ferrari, Weirton. Two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Monseau, Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Bertha Pillires, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Gabrielle Rocco, Italy. Fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Friends will be received at the Schwerha Funeral home at 303 Pennsylvania avenue after 1 p.m. today.
There will be a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 28 from the Schwerha chapel, followed by final funeral service at the United Presbyterian Church in Venice, Pa., at 2 p.m., with Rev. G. Ousley Brown, of the Cove United Presbyterian church of Weirton, officiating.
Burial will be in the Venice cemetery, Venice, Pa.
