I put the obituaries up as they are sent to me. If I see an obvious typo, I will correct it. Aside from that, I leave them alone and sometimes I do not see the typos from looking at so many pages of typing at one time. If you can provide additional information or see something that needs corrected, please feel free to contact me. If an obituary has been posted without a source, it is because it was given to us that way. We are now working on a box of obituaries that were cut out of the newspaper and they are not noted with the paper name or date of publication. I am fairly certain that they are all from the local paper, yet I can not know for sure.
Sincerely,
Jan

MRS. M’DONALD DEAD.
The Happy Release of a Good Woman Long Afflicted
WIFE OF SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT
Her Remains Were Brought To Wellsville for Burial To-Day
Mrs. J. L. McDonald, wife of the superintendent of the Wellsville public schools, died at Newburg yesterday from dropsy. Her death ends one of the saddest lives known to Wellsville people. Deceased was in her girlhood one of the brightest and most promising young girls of the vicinity where she lived in Muskingum county. Her name was Rachael Henderson. While still quite young she was married to Mr. J. L. McDonald, and shortly afterwards moved to Wellsville, where for 28 years Mr. McDonald has been superintendent of the public schools.
Here she won the hearts of those who knew her, and became quite a favorite. In about 1882 she became deranged, the malady caused by illness, and was sent to Newburg, leaving three children at home motherless. She has ever since been an inmate of that place. Up until the past year Mrs. McDonald has been quite well physically. Since then she has been ailing, and at last was mercifully taken yesterday to her reward after so many years of affliction.
Deceases was 59 years of age, and leaves three children, Charles, of Chicago; Will, a young Wellsville attorney, and Miss Mary, who has for many years taken the mother’s place in the home.
Prof. McDonald went to Newburg last night and brought the remains home.

Private services will be held at the McDonald home at 4 o’clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. W. Lowry. The pall bearers will be Messrs. Casics Chaney, George Imbrie, and Drs. Rex.
