Died Sept. 13, 2004

CHESTER – Sarah Horger Andrews, 82, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in East Liverpool Oct. 3, 1921, daughter of the late John Earl and Mary Anna Parker Horger, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1939 and attended the Ohio Valley Business College.
A member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chester, where she was a Sunday school teacher, she also was a lifelong resident of the area.
Employed at Ohio Bell for 19 years from 1942 to 1961 as a supervisor, she also worked in the office of Waterford Park from 1970 to 1974 before going to National Church Supply, where she worked for nine years until she retired in 1983.
A member of the Rhododendron Club, the Ohio Bell Choir and several card clubs, she also held membership in the East Liverpool High School alumni Association, where she was a Tower Club member and volunteer.
Her husband, Tom Andrews, to whom she was married 21 years, died Feb. 28, 1979. A sister, Anna Mae Horger Smith, and two brothers, Dr. William J. Horger and James E. Horger, also preceded her in death.
Her son, Carl Andrews and his wife, Theresa, of Chester survive along with three grandchildren, Preston, Logan and Alexa Andrews.
A sister, Mrs. Fred (Gracie) Horger Behn of Columbus, survives as well.
Friends may call Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The Rev. Katrina Lewis of the church will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
