LISBON –Services will b held Monday for Mrs. Olive A. Dickey, 84 of 7053 Lusk Lock Rd. who died Friday in Salem Community Hospital East following a two-day illness.
She was born May 4, 1893, in Elkton, a daughter of Morris Morlan and Lucinda Adams Morlan.
Mrs. Dickey was a member of the Rogers United Methodist Church and its WCTU and WSCS. She was also a member of the Signal Civic Club and Community Club.
She was married Sept. 20, 1920, to Ralph W. Dickey, who preceded her in death July 15, 1965.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lois Peppel of Columbiana and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Mercer of New Waterford; three sons, Robert Dickey of New Waterford, Charles Dickey of Lisbon and Ronald Dickey of Columbiana; a brother, Harley Morlan of Lisbon, and 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Carl Stockdale officiating. Burial will be in Kemble Cemetery near Elkton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

SALINEVILLE – Mrs. Gerturde Willis, 96, formerly of Salineville, died Friday at 6 a.m. in the Valley Road Nursing Home at Damascus where she had been a patient two years.
She was born April 14, 1881, in Salineville, a daughter of James Randolph and Mary Carter Randolph. She had resided here all her life until going to the nursing home.
Mrs. Willis was a member of the Salineville Assembly of God Church.
Her husband, Ralph Willis preceded her in death in 1963.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Meryl Wilson and Mrs. Lillian McClellan, both of Minerva, and Mrs. Mary O’Donnell of Wooster, and six grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Salineville Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Monte May Officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Mrs. Jean Ann Roe, 51, of 521 Lisbon Rd., Wellsville, was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at 11:40 a.m. at City Hospital.
She had been in failing health since January.
Mrs. Roe was born July 29, 1928 in Wellsville, a daughter of John R. Stout and Lila Irene Pugh Stout.
She was employed as a hostess at the Waterford Inn until she became ill.
Mrs. Roe was a member of the Pentacostal Church of Jesus Christ.
In addition to her husband, Westley J. Roe at home, survivors include three sons, Westley T Roe of South Point, Ohio, Jeffrey T. Roe and John E. Roe, both of Wellsville; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Cynthia) Smith, and a brother, John J. Stout, both of Wellsville; a sister, Linda Lee Stout of Canton, and seen grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the MacLean Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Boyd, Sr. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.

Services will be held Sunday for Gail C. Herron, 63, Salem businessman and civic leader, who died Thursday at Northern Columbiana County Community Hospital after a heart attack
Mr. Herron of 955 Southeast Blvd., president of Herron Transfer Co., was a past president of the Salem Board of Education, the Salem Kiwanis Club, Shrine Club and Chamber of Commerce.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Lois Dilworth, he is survived by three sons, Dr. Gail Herron Jr., Atty. Robert Herron and Gary Herron of Salem; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Freeman of Glenmoor; three brothers, Rolin Herron, Arthur Herron and Denton Herron of Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Birkhimer of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. John O’Neil of Ashtabula, and six grandchildren.
Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Stark Memorial in Salem, with Dr. Lawrence Chamberlain of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Thomas Ford Ralston, 88, of Burgettstown, Pa., died Friday in the Royal Pavilion in Steubenville following a long illness.
A retired farmer, Mr. Ralston was born Sept. 17, 1891, in Washington County, Pa., a son of William S. Ralston and Rachel Stevenson Ralston
He was a member of both the Frankfort Grange and the United Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Mae Belle Hanlin Ralston, survivors include three sons, Clark Ralston of Paris, Pa., John Ralston of Burgettstown and Curtis Ralston of Chester; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Smith of Wheeling, Mrs. George (Helen) Allmon of Steubenville and Mrs. Merle (Pat) Berger of Hookstown; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Lee’s Funeral Home in Burgettstown y the Rev. Earl Davis Monday at 2 p.m.. Burial will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, Pa.

He leaves five daughters, Mrs. Julius Wint of Cleveland, Mrs. Erma Bowers of Columbiana, Mrs. Sylvia Andrews of Salem, Mrs. Dewey Brooks and Mrs. Freemont Perkins of Lisbon; two sons, Roy of Salem and Russell Kyser of Lisbon; two brothers, Solomon and William Kyser of Salem and 31 grandchildren.

EAST PALESTINE, O., Oct. 29— Mrs. Alonzo Latta died early today at her home in East Palestine, after a long illness. Mrs. Latta, who was born near Koppell, Pa., in 1856, spent most of her life in East Palestine.
She leaves three sons, Clyde of New Mexico, and Fred and Ross of East Palestine; three brothers, Enoch Flowers of Cleveland, George Flowers of Washingtonville and Fred Flowers of East Palestine, and a sister, Mrs. J. C. Parks of Beaver Falls, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at eh home in Bacon Heights, in charge of Rev. N. H. Flickinger, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which she was a member. Burial will be made in Grandview cemetery.

Bobbie Lyndon Rex Wildman, 85, of ridge Ave., New Cumberland passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born March 7,1922 in Alma, WV, son of the late Henry and Libby Spencer Wildman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Edward Wildman and a sister, Carletta Wildman Loudin.
He was retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. Fuel Department where he worked as a fuel man. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. He was vice president of the Catholic Men’s Club, a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion, a life long music man and played with numerous bands. He was an avid outdoorsman and hobbist. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was Jewish by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mack Wildman, at home, five children, William D. (Linda) Wildman of Berea, KY, Phillip E. (Shelley) Wildman of New Port, VA, Deborah L. Wildman Mirabile of Duellon, FL, Deborah J. Peterson of New Cumberland and Michael E. (Kathy) Peterson of Warren, OH.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home with Fr. Ronald Getsinger officiating. Interment followed at the New Cumberland Cemetery,.

Marjorie Jane Sayers, 82, formerly of Florida Ave., Chester died Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Stonepear Pavilion at Foxcrest, where she had been a resident for the last six years.
She was born May 2, 1926 in Toronto, a daughter of the late Robert Dean and Mary Estella Brown Bryan. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Harry Sayers; two sisters, Ruthann Bowman and Mary Louise Welch; and graddaughter, Lyann Ann Simmons.
Marjorie retired from the Homer Laughlin China Co. as a time keeper after 27 years of service. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving two terss as a deacon and earning a 50 year pin from the choir. She was also a member of the former Chester Woman’s Club, Thursday Night Card Club and local chapters of the American Red Cross and American Society.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Sayers and wife Terri of Calcutta and John Sayers and wife Betsy of Wardensville, WV; two daughters, Linda Simmons and husband Larry of Newell and Patricia Sayers of Chester; grandson, Larry Simmons Jr., wife Valarie and their son Lucas, two special nieces, Judy Pryor and Cindy Nelson and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Westminster Church with Rev. Trina Lewis officiating. Interment followed at the Locust Hill Cemetery.

Dominic J. Ludovici, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Stone Per Pavilion of the Orchards at Foxcrest in Chester.
He was born March 9, 1930 in Chester, a son of the late Carl and Rose Difederico Ludovici. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Tony, and Al and a daughter, Michelle.
Well known in the Tri-State area, Dom began selling cars for his father at the former Ludovici Pontiac in Chester, which along with three brothers, he later owned and operated. In 1963 he opened Tad Motors in the East End of East Liverpool which he later moved to Calcutta. He retired from the family business in 1993. Earlier he had worked in the clay mines in Newell, and had at one time worked in the Chester Post Office.
A life time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, Dom was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard having served from 1951-1954, and was also a 60 year member of the Chester American Legion Post 121, and NADA.
In 1953 he married the love of his life, the former Sue Stewart and together they had five children, Michael and his wife Lisa, Frederic and his companion Barb, Jill Orenzuk and her husband Marc, Joe and his wife Tammy, Ronald and his wife Jennifer. In addition there are ten grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Carlie, Nick, Anthony, Jessie, T.J., Lizzie, Mariah, & Justin also survive. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at the Locust Hill Cemetery where the Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veteran’s Burial Group accorded full military honors.

Mrs. Mahalia Eicholtz, aged 52, died yesterday morning at her home at 307 ½ Juliana street following an extended illness.
Born at Ogdin, Wood county, Mrs. Eicholtz spent most of her life in Parkersburg, where she attended the Church of God at Nineteenth street and Ohio avenue.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Nolan, city and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Nineteenth street Church of God. Interment will be in Odd Fellows cemetery. The body was removed to the Leavitt funeral home.

Frank Peters, aged 76, of Walker, Route 2 died yesterday morning at his home.
Mr. Peters, born in Putnam county, came to the Walker community as a young man and has since then lived in Wood county, a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the Methodist church, lately attending the Pilgrim Holiness church in South Parkersburg.
He is survived by his wife Mary; six daughters, Mrs. Katie Newhouse of Walker, Mrs. Bessie McNemarof Junior, W. Va., Mrs. Beulah Young of Bellsville, Mrs. Elizabeth Bowen of Laurelsville, Ohio, Mrs. Margaret Holton and Mrs. Alice Snyder, both of Walker, route 3; two sons, Oscar of Lesage, W Va., and John of South Bloomfield, Ohio; four brothers, John of Ironton, O., Ezra of Monty Victory, O., Walter of Waverly and Charles of Columbus, O.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ezra Pickens of Columbus and Mrs. Rachel Barnett of East Liverpool, O.
The body was removed to the Leavitt funeral home. Funeral services will be held from Kanawha chapel, the time to be announced later. Interment will be in Morgan cemetery, near Muddy Creek school.

Creed Wilson, 77, a prominent farmer of Ritchie county, died Thursday afternoon at his home at Toll Gate after an illness of several months. Born near Pennsboro May 9, 1865, he was the son of the late John Marshall Wilson. After graduating from the former Glenville Normal school about 55 years ago, he completed the law course in West Virginia university and was admitted to the bar. However, he devoted much time to agriculture and never practiced law. He also taught in public schools.
Surviving are three sons, William Wilson, of Carbondale, Ill., Brooks Wilson of Pennsboro, and Barr Wilson, who is in the army. His brother, Mayor Ben Wilson, of Pennsboro, is the last surviving member of a family of twelve children. Mrs. Allie Barr (Broadwater) Wilson, his wife, died several years ago. Step children are Frank Broadwater and Fred Broadwater of Parkersburg, and Miss Ramona Broadwater, of Toll Gate.

Mrs. Bosworth had been a resident of Parkersburg for several years. Her husband Charles B. Bosworth died in 1942. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Richard Gale of Parkersburg, Mrs. O. H. Clark, and Mrs. W. G. Turner, of Front Royal; one brother, Samon L. Davis of Northwood, N. D.; two sisters Mrs. Blanche Turley of Carlysle, Pa., and Mrs. Stella Perry of Frenchtown, W. Va.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from Leavitts funeral home. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery. The body will arrive in Parkersburg at 5:42 today.

Born Jan. 16, 1899, in Marietta, he was a son of the late Dan and Elizabeth Breen Bosworth. He spent most of his life in Parkersburg and Vienna.
He was employed as a tool and die maker for the Union Insulating Co. in Parkersburg.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Bernice Bosworth; two sons, Dean Bosworth, Vienna, and Richard Bosworth, Buffalo, N. Y.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bosworth, Williamstown, and Brenton Bosworth, Flint, Mich.
Mr. Bosworth was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathryn and Sue Bosworth.
The body was removed to the Leavitt funeral home where friends may call. Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night.

Mr. Bosworth was born June 25, 1891, in Jackson county, and spent most of his life there.

He is survived by his widow Mrs. Ardelia Miller Pryor; a son, Keister Pryor, of Weirton; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Anderson, Friendly, Mrs. Faye Gardner, McConnelsville, O., and Mrs. Leona Huffman, Paden City.
A brother and three sisters also survive. They are James Pryor, Seattle, Mrs. Eunice parr, Bellaire, O., Mrs. Stella Bayer, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Alma Summers, Homer. La.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ruttencutter funeral home, St. Marys, with Evang. Jesse Clayton officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery, Tyler county.

Harl R. Williams, 55, a former resident of the Parkersburg area, died Tuesday in Akron City hospital, according to word received here yesterday.
His death followed a sudden illness.
Born in Ripley, he was a son of the late R. T. and Lydia Bradley Williams. He was a member of Henry Perkins Lodge 611, A.F. & A. M.
He had been employed by the Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. as a laboratory technician for 17 years, and was a member of the Goodrich Acacia Club.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Wilma L. Williams; a son, Jack E. Williams, Akron; a brother and sister, D. A. Williams and Mrs. Nellie F. Lee, Vienna.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Eckard-Baldwin funeral home in Akron, with the Rev. Murray Figg officiating.

Born at Bruin, Butler county, Pa., on Oct. 8, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mortimer, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Julia Deverick of Elkview, and Mrs. Gretbel Barrickman of Charleston; and one son, Carl Redic of Walton; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hardman-Conrad funeral home with the Rev. William S. Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Swank cemetery at Spencer.

Lloyd H. Morgan Sr., 91, of Parkersburg, formerly of 3618 Plum St., died Thursday evening at the Arlington Health Care Facilities on Gihon Road.
He was born in Alta Vista, Kan., a son of the late Josiah Sprigg and Eliza Jane Gooch Morgan. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Beech Bottom Power Co. in Power. Brook County. He was an Army veteran of World War I, and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1, in Wheeling.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Alberta May Morgan; three sons, Joseph W. of Fleming, Ohio, Lloyd Jr. of Parkersburg, and Clyde R. Johnson of Huntington; a daughter, Dorothy M. Snedeker of Bellaire, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Vaughan Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Wescott will officiate.
Additional services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday a the Halcyon Hills Cemetery Chapel at Sherrard, Marshall County with burial following.

She was born at Hemlock, Jackson County, a daughter of the late Brown and Henrietta Yost Hendershot. She was a member of the Untied Brethren Church and Ravenswood senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Stackpole of New Martinsville and Mrs. Lucille Steed of Chillicothe, Ohio; and two sons, Ralph of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Charles of Route 1 Ripley; 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 1961, and by a son, Ted.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home. The Rev. Lorris Pullins will officiate, with burial in the Morgan Cemetery at Hemlock.

She was born in Bellville, W.Va., Nov. 15, 1894, a daughter of the late James Elza and Amanda Fleak Robinson
Active in many Senior Citizens groups in the East Liverpool area, she was a member of the Hampton Park Christian Church in Toledo and was a former member of the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church and the First Christian Church in East Liverpool.
Her husband, Earl B. McHenry, died in 1969, A son, James Michael McHenry died in 1972.
She is survived by a son, Winston E. McHenry of Toledo; a stepson, Paul McHenry of Cuyahoga Falls; seven grandchildren and for stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday in Toledo.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The Walter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born in East Liverpool Dec. 8, 1927, a son of the late Harry and Agnes Mort McHenry.
He loved most of his life in Chester. He was employed 30 years at the Columbia Gas Transmission Co. in Clinton before retiring. He was a veteran of service with the U. S. Army. He graduated from Chester High School in 1945. He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Chester Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, American Legion Post 121 and Elks Lodge 258.
He is survived by a daughter, Gretchen McHenry of Salem; two sons, David J. McHenry of East Liverpool and William Richard McHenry Jr. of Newell; two brothers, Russell M. McHenry and Harry McHenry of Chester; and a granddaughter.
The Rev. Dr. H. Gene Toot of the Trinity Presbyterian Church will conduct the services at 10:30 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Her husband, Richard C. McHenry, died in 1985. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Gary C. McHenry in 1980 and David R. McHenry in 1993; three brothers, Gene Cogley, Walter Cogley and Homer Cogley; and a sister. Roseanna Hanies.
She is survived by two sons, William R. McHenry of East Liverpool and John D. McHenry of Hookstown; six daughters, Bertha Irene Wachob of Beaver Falls, Mrs. Elmer (Frances Marie) Dillow of North Lima, Mrs. Robert (Betty Arlene) Sentz of Smiths Ferry, Mrs. George (Nancy Lee) Nelson of Midland Heights, Mrs. Rick (Thelma Jean) Rhodes of Columbiana and Linda McHenry of New Brighton; two brothers, Clarence Dale Cogley of Dayton and William Carl Cogley of Beaver Falls; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at the D. L. Williams Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum in Daugherty Township.

CINCINNATI – Paul E. McHenry, 89, formerly of East Liverpool, died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at the Kenwood Terrace Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Liverpool June 26, 1908, a son of the late Earl B. and Blanche Maidens McHenry.
He and the late Howard Diddle started the Handy Sales and Service here. He lived most of his life in the East Liverpool area before moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1993 and later moving to Cincinnati. He was a member of Riddle Masonic Lodge 315 and was a 32nd degree member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville.
He is survived by his wife, Lois E. Russell McHenry, whom he married Aug. 9, 1930; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Berling of Cincinnati and Mrs. Kenneth (Vicki) Gessford of Stow, Ohio; a son, Steven A. McHenry of Dayton; a brother, Winston McHenry of Toledo; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Michael McHenry.
Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

EAST LIVERPOOL – W. Kenneth McHenry, 77, of First Avenue died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Salina, Pa., April 5, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Isabelle Robinson McHenry.
An area resident most of his life, he retired from the former Crucible Steel Co. in 1982 after working 41 years as a bricklayer. He served with the U. S. Army in the South Pacific with the 6th Division in the 1st Infantry during World War II. He was a member of the Eutruria Street Church of God.
His wife, Iladene Woomer McHenry, whom he married June 22, 1946, died in March 1990. He also was preceded in death by a brother, James McHenry.
He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Shermenti of Saltsburg, Pa., and Mae Reed of East Liverpool; and a brother, George Frank McHenry of East Liverpool. He also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Broadbent and Delores Gacesa with whom he resided for the last two months.
The Rev. Mitzi Wolfe of the church will conduct the services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military honors graveside at Riverview Cemetery.

TOLEDO – Winston E. McHenry, 80, of Toledo passed away suddenly Saturday evening, Nov. 10, 2001, at the Medical College Hospital.
Winston was born in East Liverpool to Earl and Iva Robinson McHenry.
He was valedictorian of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1939. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Mount Union College, then entered the U. S. army, where served with the 823rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He was involved with the Battle of Normandy and other battles in the Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat Aug. 8. 1944.
Following the war, he earned a master’s degree in science and business administration from the Ohio State University and completed work toward a Ph. D. a the University of Michigan. Winston worked as a professor at the University of Toledo from 1949 to 1981 in the College of Business. He also served as assistant dean and undergraduate adviser in his career. He continued his career as professor emeritus for five years.
Both he and his wife have been longtime members of Hampton Park Christian Church. Winston was a gentle man who loved classical music, reading great works of literature, taking rides in the country and plying the piano.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Allene M. Manning McHenry; is children, Cathay (Roy) Martin, David E. McHenry and Timothy A. McHenry; his grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jennifer Martin, David H., Melanie and Mark McHenry and Jacqueline (James) English; and his great –grandchildren, twins Zackary and Madisona and Cameron English. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Lois McHenry and Florence McHenry, seven nephews and six nieces.
Friends may call a the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Committal services and burial will take place a the Columbiana County Memorial Park in East Liverpool at 2 p.m. Thursday.

FAIRLAWN, Ohio – Lois Evelyn (nee Russell) McHenry died at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at the VNS Hospice Facility in Fairlawn.
She was born Jan. 4, 1910, in East Liverpool. She was the daughter of the late Florence (nee Glenn) and Marlow Russell.
Lois graduated with honors from East Liverpool High school in 1928 and was an enthusiastic member of the Hi-Tri-Club during her high school years. She was happiest when she was designing and tailoring her own clothes, which she did for many years. She was considered an excellent seamstress.
In 1960 Lois opened and managed the first Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in East Liverpool. She was a member of the East Liverpool Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Quota Club. She was an active participant, for several years, in the East Liverpool Speech and Hearing Clinic.
Her late husband, Paul E. McHenry, preceded her in death on March 17, 1998. He was one of East Liverpools two original founders of Handy Sales and Service.
Survivors include her brother, Glenn Russell of Venice, Fla., three children, Sue (Jack) Berling of Cincinnati, Ohio, Vicki (Ken) Gessford of Stow, Ohio, and Steve (Katy) McHenry of Dayton, Ohio; also four grandchildren, Ben (Laura) Gessford of Woodbridge, Va.; Pete (Rita) Gessford of Canton, Ohio, Paul(Audrey) McHenry of Columbus, Ohio and Jillian (Joseph) Macau of Orlando, Fla.; and a great grandchild, McKenna Gessford.
Lois was a long time resident of the East Liverpool area and spent several of her latters at the Stow Glen Retirement Center in Stow, Ohio. Lois will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
The Rev. Mark Richardson of the First Christian Church of Stow will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Dawson Funeral Home, 215 W. Fifth St., East Liverpool. Relatives and friends will be received one hour prior to the memorial service.
Family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center following the service.

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP – Brace E. Weddle Curran McHenry, 72, of N. Michigan Blvd. Salem, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the intersection of state Routes 7 and 30 in St. Clair Township.
Born in Pomeroy, Ohio, Sept, 25, 1930, a daughter of the late Dan and Audrey Cochrane Weddle, she was a resident of East Liverpool before moving to Salem in 1978.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Betty) Blystone of E. Liverpool, Mrs. “Pastor Joe” (Judy) Sellers of Southport, Fla., and Mrs. James (Georgeanne) Vaughn, also of East Liverpool; and her two sons, David Curran and his wife Deb of Wintersville and Patrick Curran II and his fiancé Deb Lewis of Salem.
Also surviving are her 22 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and four step-great-grandchildren. The following former daughters-in-law survive her; Noreen Curran, Cindy Curran and Connie Curran, all of East Liverpool; as well as a former s0n-in-law, Claude McFadden.
Preceding her in deat is her first husband, Patrick Curran sr., who died in 1971, and her second husband, George McHenry, who died in 1989, as well as a daugher, Mia Blystone in 1996; a son, Michael Curran in 1998; a grandson, Robert “Ace” Blystone in 1998; tow sisters and three brothers.

She was born in New Matamoris, Ohio, July 17, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie Pugh Cline
Living most of her life in the are, Mrs. MeHenry was a wife, mother, grandmother, and worked as a supervisor for Dutchmaid Clothing for 28 years, retiring in 1984. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and a member of Grant Street Church of God in East Liverpool, where she was the Sunday School superintendent and taught the teenagers in Sunday School.
Her husband, George “Frank” McHenry, whom she married June 16, 1948, survives her at home.
She is also survived by a daughter, Debbie J. Cross of Calcutta; two brothers, Donald Cline and Edward Cline, both of East Liverpool; two sisters, Helen Cline of Harlem Springs, Ohio, and Ethel Johnson of East Liverpool; a grandson, James r. Cross of Calcutta; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, with Pastor David Cline of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

EAST LIVERPOOL – William Donald McHenry, 79, of Thompson Ave., passed away peacefully at home on ‘Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, following a brief illness.’ He was the son of the late William F. and M. Elizabeth (Muffley) McHenry, born in East Liverpool on Feb. 3, 1927. Living his entire live in the area, Mr. McHenry was owner of Hoges Restaurant in East Liverpool for 37 years. He retired from the Ohio Power Company after 42 years of service.
Mr. McHenry was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and a veteran of the U. S. air Force serving from 1945 to 1947. He was a charter member of Calcutta Lions Club, where he was Lion of the year in 1994 and served many years on the Board of Directors. He belonged to the Blue and White Touch Down Club and coached the Dixonville Viking’s for the Bill booth Little League. Enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and decorating his home for Christmas.
His wife, V. Pear McHenry, whom he married June 19, 1950, survives him; a son Bill McHenry of Calcutta; four daughters, Cindy Kreefer of East Liverpool, Cathy Dray of East Liverpool, Tammy Layfield of New Waterford and Pam McHenry of Wellsville; two son –in-laws, Mike Kreefer and Chris Layfield; as sister, Betty Rogers of Mesa, Aria.; 12 grandchildren, Michael, David and Steven McHenry, Kristen, Justin and ‘Brian Kreefer, Jessica and Courtney Dray, Christopher McHenry, Nicole Layfield, Tyler and Timothy Thrasher, one great-grandchild, Kylie Kreefer. Don, also known as “Big Daddy” will be missed by many friends.
Besides his parents, Mr. McHenry was preceded in death by a daughter, Keborah Kay McHenry and a sister, Virginia McHenry.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeryer Funeral Homes on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Sturm officiating.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family will be present to receive friends a the funeral home in Calcutta today, Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, form 2 to 8 p.m.

‘ Born July 9, 1919, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Norman h. McHenry and Irene Roth McHenry, he was a lifetime area resident.
A U. S. Army veteran of World War II from 1941 to 1945, he worked at the former Potters Construction Co. until his retirement in 1981.
Known for being a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, he attended Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1937, American Legion Post 374 and a member since 1937 of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 171.
His wife, Adaline Johnson McHenry, whom he married Aug. 31, 1946 survives at home.
Two daughters, Sure Irwin and her husband, Phil of East Liverpool, and Louise Roberts of Salem; and a son, Norman H. McHenry and his wife, Lucy, of Wilson, N. C., also survive.
There are seven grandchildren, Patrick Irwin, Christopher Irwin, Kimberly Irwin, Anne Roberts, Robert Roberts, Brett McHenry and Ryan McHenry..
He is also survived by a niece, Norma Spademan of Worthington, Ohio, and a nephew, Jim Bell of Fairfield, Calif.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louis McHenry Bell.
The Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stevenson was born Oct. 25, 1888. She was a member of the Frankfort Springs Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Diamond Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Linesville, Pa.

A former Lisbon resident, she had resided here the last nine months.
She was born Aug. 11, 1884, in Chester a daughter of William and Kezziah Daniels Johnston.
Mrs. Whitehead was a member of the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene.
Her husband, James Whitehead, died April 24, sf1944, and a son, Edward Whitehead, died in 1960.
She leaves five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Alexander and Mrs. Goldie Eddy, both of East Liverpool; Mrs. Ella Mae Wymer of Lisbon R. D.; Mrs. Alberta Lawrence of Steubenville, and Mrs. Mary Belle Moore of Cadiz; two sons, Aleck Whitehead of Salem and Ray Whitehead of Cadiz; 23 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Henry Funeral Home at Lisbon, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Russell Long of the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.

Mrs. Hailes was born March 4, 1884, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiram A. Kountz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron L. Hailes, in 1958. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Tarentum.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hitesman of San Jose, Calif.; a son, Harold Hailes of Tarentum; seven grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren
Services will be held Sunday evening at the Ferver-Krynicki Funeral Home in Tarentum. Additional services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Haugh Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. James Sanko of the Wellsville Riverside United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Wellsville.

John N. Mercer, 91, of Hookstown R. D. 1, a Greene Township road worker since 1900, died Friday night at Osteopathic Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Beaver County, he was born /Aug. 1, 1874, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mercer. For 48 years he has held offices of auditor, supervisor, secretary and treasurer. He also served as secretary and director of the Beaver County Fair Board in New Brighton. He was a member of the Beaver County Agricultural Association, Beaver County Pomona Grange, Hookstown Grange, Mill Creek Cemetery Board and the Mt. Pleasant United Presbyterian Church, near Monaca, where he served as elder emeritus.
He leaves a son, Joe A. Mercer of Hookstown, R. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mary Elizabeth) Cain of Hookstown R. D. 1 and Mrs. Richard (Louise) Wright of Monaca, and six grandchildren.
Srevices will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Welch Funeral Home in Hookstown by the Rev. Daryl Davis. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown.

Mr. Lou Anna Potts, wife of Thomas T. Potts, died Monday afternoon at her home at 232 25th st., Wellsville, following a brief illness.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shaffer, and was born in Elkton. She resided in Wellsville for nearly 50 years. She was a member of the Wellsville Christian church.
Besides her husband she leaves one sister, Mrs. Addie Jenkins of Wellsville, and one brother, Harve Shaffer of Cleveland.
The body was removed to the MacLean funeral home where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. R. L. Bolon, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery.

The body was removed to the Stewart funeral home in Hookstown. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Buchheit, who has been living in Akron for more than 30 years, where he was employed by the City waterworks department, was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

NEW CUMBERALND -- Funeral services for William Henry Bailey, who was killed when rundown by a train here Friday morning, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Esther Webster.
Rev. Jacob Steinstraw of the Methodist Episcopal church will officiate and burial will follow in New Cumberland cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born in New Cumberland Dec. 22, 1874 and lived here all his life. He was the son of Joseph Bailey and Elizabeth Wolf Bailey.
Before his retirement he was mine foreman for the Blackhorse Brick yards. He was a member of the Christian church of New Cumberland. Mr. Bailey married Minnie Jarvens in Freedom, Pa., Feb. 22, 1896.

LISBON – Harold L. Taylor, 74,10272 Steubenville-Pike Road, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at his residence, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Clinton County on Jan. 24, 1913, the son of Robert and Clara Morris Taylor. He lived in this area for 31 years, coming form Wilmington.
For many years, he was a truck driver and worked 20 years for the county highway department, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Conn Taylor, whom he married April 21, 1956; two brothers, Delford Taylor of Wilmington and Herschel Taylor of Washington Court House; and three sisters, Mrs. Mrs. Kenneth (Sherrie) Peyton of Blanchester, Mrs. Andrew (Alice) Fraley of Sabina, and Mrs. Russell (Mary) Sanderson of Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by a son, William.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Weber Funeral Home with Mr. Tom Derby, minister of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia.

LANCASTER, Calif. – JOHN Wardles, 92, formerly of 1806 Danbury Ave., Wellsville, died Monday at the Mayflower Garden Convalescent Center here. He had resided in Lancaster since 1977.
He was born May 16, 1895 in East Liverpool, the son of Edward and Elizabeth Porter Wardles.
He was employed as a finisher at the former Edwin M. Knowles China Co., last working in 1964.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Wellsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Henthorne, in 1977.
Survivors include two sons, Harry J. Wardles and Kenneth Wardles of Corvallis, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. John A. (Madeline) Price of Lancaster, Mrs. Arch (Pauline) Pinkerton of Wellsville and Mrs. Claude (Bernice) Emery of Empire; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville at 1 p.m. Monday, with Pastor Rod Kasler of the church officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

LISBON – Henry T. Miles, 54, of 9182 Trinity Church Road, was pronounced dead Tuesday evening at 10640 Laughlin Mill Road in Hanover Township, of an apparent drowing.
He was born April 7, 1933 in Rochester, Pa., the son of Noble F. and Janie Thomas Miles. He had resided in the Lisbon area for the past year and prior to that, he resided in the Darlington and Rochester, Pa., areas.
For the past year, he was employed at the Blum Coal company of Lisbon.
He attended the Second Baptist Church of Rochester, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Luck; a brother, Franklin “Lindy” Miles of Coraopolis, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Deloris Foster of Cleveland, Mrs. Janet Lockhart of New Brighton, Pa., and Ms. O’Neal Grimage of Milwaukee, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine. Burial will be in New Waterford Cemetery.

She was born May 23, 1934, in Salem, the daughter of Charles Raymond and Erma Leora Summers Spencer.
She lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the Westville Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Orlie B. McNeal Sr., whom she married Sept. 11, 1975; four daughters, Emma Simmons of North Benton, Eva Craig of Alliance, Kay Sellers of Sebring and Tina Totten of Alliance; a son, Robert Greeneisen of Salem; four stepdaughters, Florence Hively, Mary Shutler, Clara Ward and Mildred Gibbson, all of Alliance; two stepsons, Russell McNeal of Alliance and Orlie McNeal of Beloit; three sisters, Viola Good of Salem, Bridge Carpenter of Brooksville, Fla. and Gladys Thompson of Winona; two brothers, Chuck Spencer of Kiser, Md., and Peter Spencer of Beloit; 30 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Spencer, and a son, Walter Dean Greeneisen.
Services were held Tuesday at the Sharer-Stirling Funeral Home in Alliance. Burial was in highland Memorial Park.

Born July 14, 1897 in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Frederic and Jeney Ward Flower.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was formerly employed at McElvey Department Store, Youngstown. She was last employed by the former Columbiana Pump
Co.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, East Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Wilber Reese in December of 1947 and by her second husband, Clarence Sprott.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. Reese of Painesville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leonard (Joann) Pritchard of Columbiana; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nettie Spalding.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Arbaug-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home with Rev. Larry A. Draper officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery.

BARNESVILLE – Charles R. “Chick” Dorsey, 81, 595 W. Main St., a former East Liverpool, resident, died Thursday morning at the Barnesville Hospital following a brief illness.
Born Jan. 3, 1906 in East Liverpool, he was the son of David and Belle Jones Dorsey.
He was a retired employee of Patterson Industries in East Liverpool and was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 1699 and the Rotary Club.
In addition to his wife, Lillian Smith Dorsey, at home, he is survived by a son, Robert Dorsey of Barnesville; and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Campbell-Plumley Funeral Home in Barnesville with Rev. Ron Hopkins officiating . Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery.

Born Oct. 2, 1902 in Knox Township, she was the daughter of Fred J. and Dorothy Summers Wafler.
She had been employed at the Sanor Apple Farm and earlier at Zellers’ Restaurant. She was a 68-year Golden Sheath member of Butler Grange.
She ws preceded in death Dec. 31, 1963, by her first husband, Ernest M. Woolf, whom she married June 21, 1919. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Monte Derrick.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Voghuber of Salem; a son, Charles F. Woolf of Salem; two sisters, Bertha Zellers of Alliance and Esther Brooks of Lumberton, N. C.; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Aegerter, in 1980; and by three brothers, Frank, Albert and George Wafler.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Stark Memorial with Rev. Carl Murray officiating. Burial will be in North Georgetown Cemetery.
