Dominic J. Ludovici, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Stone Per Pavilion of the Orchards at Foxcrest in Chester.
He was born March 9, 1930 in Chester, a son of the late Carl and Rose Difederico Ludovici. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Tony, and Al and a daughter, Michelle.
Well known in the Tri-State area, Dom began selling cars for his father at the former Ludovici Pontiac in Chester, which along with three brothers, he later owned and operated. In 1963 he opened Tad Motors in the East End of East Liverpool which he later moved to Calcutta. He retired from the family business in 1993. Earlier he had worked in the clay mines in Newell, and had at one time worked in the Chester Post Office.
A life time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, Dom was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard having served from 1951-1954, and was also a 60 year member of the Chester American Legion Post 121, and NADA.
In 1953 he married the love of his life, the former Sue Stewart and together they had five children, Michael and his wife Lisa, Frederic and his companion Barb, Jill Orenzuk and her husband Marc, Joe and his wife Tammy, Ronald and his wife Jennifer. In addition there are ten grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Carlie, Nick, Anthony, Jessie, T.J., Lizzie, Mariah, & Justin also survive. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at the Locust Hill Cemetery where the Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veteran’s Burial Group accorded full military honors.
