Hugh Sanford Rose died Sunday at 2 a.m. at his home, one mile south of Highlandtown, following a short illness. He was born on Nov. 30, 1859.
Mr. Rose leaves his widow, Mrs. Prudence Smith Rose; five children, Mrs. Homer Mick of Wellsville, Frank Rose of Highlandtown, Floyd Rose of Conway, Pa., Viola and Edith Rose at home; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Highlandtown, Methodist Episcopal church, in charge of Rev. S. W. Young, pastor of the Wellsville Second Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in Highlandtown cemetery.
