James F. May Sr. - Obituary

LISBON – James F. May Sr., 85, of state Route 45, died at 5:16 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Palestine Sept. 23, 1915, a son of the late Ira and Lillian French May.
He had been employed as a furnace operator at the former TRW in Minerva before retiring. He served with the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon.
He is survived by his wife, Leona A. Kuester May; four sons, Ronald G. May of Lisbon, James F. May Fr. Of Kensington, James H. May of Wenahitchka, Fla., and Rickie F. May of New Waterford; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sandy) Bilsky of Hanoverton; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. David Nikkel of the church will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call a the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

NEW CUMBERLAND –Glen L. Arnott, 62, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Weirton Medical Center.
He was born in Lisbon Feb. 5, 1939, a son of the late Sarah Alice Barrett Arnott.
He attended Wells High School in Newell and received his G.E.D. while serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged from the service. He retired after 33 years with Weirton Steel Co., last working as a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and was a member of the Tomlinson Run Church of Christ.
Glenn was a loving husband, father and friend who enjoyed fishing and his work.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shirley Kenney Arnott, at home; a daughter and son-in-law, James and Sarah Arnott McIntosh of New Cumberland; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cynthia Arnott of Greenfield, Wis.; two grandchildren, Brandon Arnott and Courtney Lynn Arnott; and two brothers, Robert Arnott of Mentor, Ohio and Alan Arnott of Ohio.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, with Minister Paul Blake of the church officiating. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Floyd E. Swiger, 70, of Cadmus Street, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at the Medical Center of Beaver following an extended illness.
He was born in Hamnondsville, Ohio, July 23, 1932, a son of the late Donald Swiger Jr. and Thelma (Francis) Brooks.
He lived his entire life in the area and was a chauffer to Ben Feldman for 10 years. He belonged to the Grace Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Siger at home; two sons, Floyd Joseph Swiger of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Thomas Edwin Swiger of East Liverpool; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Emily J.) Thomas of New Boston, Texas, and Mrs. Thomas (Edith C.) McCune of East Liverpool; two sisters, Joanne Bell and Dorothy Elliot of East Liverpool; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Grace Baptist Temple, with Pastor Gaylord Cox officiating.
The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLeean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes in in charge of the arrangements.

James V. Harsha Sr. - Obituary

CALCUTTA -- James V. Harsha Sr., 85, of Crestvue Place, passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 after a lengthy illness.
The son of the late Elzie C. and Stella Ruth (Flint) Harsha, he was born in East Liverpool March 26, 1917, and lived his entire life here.
Jim was the owner-operator of the former Harsha’s Pennzoil in Calcutta for more than 30 years, last working in 1979. His commitment to his faith was evident by a sign that appeared in with window of his station that read, “Closed Sunday, try the Lord’s service, it’s better than ours.” He had also fixed many flat bike tires for the children of the area at no charge.
He was a graduate of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1935 and a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during World War II. Jim was also an active member of the East Liverpool Church of the Nazarene, where he was a former elder. He was also a past president and helped with the teaching of the Home Builders Class of the church. He enjoyed meeting on Mondays with fellow men of the church to do needed repairs in and around the church.
When the Calcutta fire siren sounded, Jim could be seen at the intersection in front of his station, directing traffic for the fire department.
He is survived by his wife of 64, years, Erma V. (Barnhart) Harsha, whom he married Sept. 19, 1939; two sons and daughters-in law, James V. Harsha II and his wife roxie of Calcutta and Lee C. Harsha and his wife Tonia of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Ila M. Horger of Calcutta; six grandchildren, Beth Wan, Amy Cunningham, Jim Harsha, Crystal Harshberger, Shannon Janzen and Tonya Janzen; and three great-grandchildren, Caylee Cunningham, LeeAnn Shehan Harsha and Troy Harshberger.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Thomas Harsha, preceded Jim in death.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes, with Pastor Larry Hall of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

CLEVELAND -- Bertha C. Bailey, 86, of Crawford Road, formerly of First Avenue in East Liverpool, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 31, 2002, at University Hospital in Cleveland following a lengthy illness.
Born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., May 13, 1916, a daughter of the late Rufus and Arnetta Wallace Cook, she spent most of her life in East Liverpool.
A member of New Hope Baptist Church, she served as president of the Pastors’ Aid auxiliary and was a past president of the Altar guild and the Naomi Missionary Society. In 1973, she organized a prayer band in her First Avenue home, as well as a counseling ministry.
Her husband, Dallas Bailey, died Sept. 9, 1955. Four brothers, Rufus, James, Willie and Miller Cook, preceded her in death along with four sisters, Nellie Mae Wright, Angeline Murray, Connie Cook and Naomi Murphy. Dennis Bailey a grandson, also preceded her in death.
A son, Miller Bailey and his wife Leola of Cleveland, survive.
A sister, Blanche Murphy of Bluefield, W.Va., also survives along with five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rev. Rolland Owens of the church will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Antonio J. “Tony” Braancazio, 81, of New Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2008 at the Weirton Medical Center.
Antonio was born January 15, 1927 in Yorkville, OH the son of the late Pasquale and Angela DiLullo Brancazio. He was also preceded in death by his wire, Dorothy Hillis Brancazio; his sister, Domenica Mozzone, and brothers, Joseph Brancazio and Dr. Dominic Brancazio, all of Weirton.
Antoniois survived by his partner, Virginia Prendes; brothers, John Barnacazio of Paris; Cosmo Brancazio of Weirton; sisters, Mary Rollison and Mrs. Tony (Lena) Paolo of Weirton, two step sons, Randy and Robert Hillis of South Carolina and fifteen nieces and nephews.
He retired from Weirton Steel where he was a supervisor in the Sheet Mill. Antonio served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. An avid golfer, he enjoyed Thoroughbred horse racing.
Per Antonio’s request, there was no public viewing.
The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret LaNever Falascino - Obituary

Margaret LaNeve Falascino, 85, died on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Friendship Ridge in Beaver, PA. Prior to moving to Beaver, Margaret had been a forty year resident of Dormont, PA.
She was born February 10, 1923 in Newell, a daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Pranno LaNeve. She was also preceded in death by her husband; five sisters, Antoinette Peluso, Frances Manypenny, Rose Ruggire, Mary Yanni and Delores Adkins and a brother, James LaNeve.
Before marrying the late John Falascino and moving to Pennsylvania, Margaret had worked as a clerk for the Equitable Insurance Company in East Liverpool.
Margaret had been an active and involved Catholic all her life and had been a member of the St. Aloysius Community Parish where she was involved in the altar & Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Hicks of East Liverpool and Rita and Ann LaNeve of Newell, as well as several devoted nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Rev. Father Bernard N. Gaeta was the celebrant for a mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St Aloysius Community Parish. Interment followed at the Queen of Heavens Cemetery in McMurray, PA. Arner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lucille Beaver, 88, of Warsaw, OH, passed away Sunday, Aril 20, 2008 at the Coshocton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 10, 1920 in Sistersville, a daughter of the late Ove and Lorena (Curry) Grimm. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Beaver; a daughter, Becky Bookless and a granddaughter, Brandi Bookless.
She married the Rev. Wilbur Beaver on Oct. 15, 1938. They were married for 69 years.
Mrs. Beaver was a member of the Warsaw Nazarene Church. She loved to crochet.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbur of Dresden’ a son, Charles P. (Carol J.) Beaver of Dover; two sisters, Marjorie Stead of Sistersville and Joann (Ray) Chaney of Texas; a brother, Herbert (Maxine) Grimm of Crossroads, TN; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Ward and Pastor Scott Robinson officiating. Interment followed at the South Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Hall died Tuesday morning at City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 29, 1904, in Palestine, W. Va., a son of the late Charles and Grace Cain Hall.
He had resided in Newell for 40 years, having formerly lived in East Liverpool.
He operated a barer shop and belonged to the Newell Presbyterian Church, Lodge 142 F.&A.M., Wheeling Consistory, Osiris Temple, East Liverpool Shrine Club, East Liverpool Coin Club and Local Barber ‘s Union 3433.
His Wife, Roxie Lewis Hall, died Nov. 8, 1966.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George (Cheryl) Marsh of East Liverpool, and two grandsons.

She was born September 18, 1937 in Palestine, WVa. Daughter of the late Comadore P. and Alice L. (Kearnes) Westfall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Ray; three brothers, Dallas, Merle and Bubbie Westfall; two sisters, Margarie Troy and Edith McGee and a nephew, Todd Ferrel.
June was the retired owner of Petite Dry Cleaners, a member of the New Cumberland First Presbyterian Church, the VFW Post #3526 Ladies Auxiliary and the Steubenville Moose Chapter #586.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Hazel) Lowe of Weirton; three sisters, Madeline Greathouse Torch, OH, Betty (Carl) Leasure of New Cumberland and Geraldine Walker of Weirton; three brothers, Donald (Mary) Westfall of Leavittsburg, OH and Gilford Westfall and Gerald (Shirley) Westfall, all of Newton Falls, OH; two grandsons, Patrick and Branden Lowe of Weirton; her friend Floyd Grandy and many nieces and nephews.

Donald Lee Sponaule, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, FL on Thursday, July 3, 2008 after a brae battle with colon cancer.
Don and his family were life long residents of the Ohio Valley until their move to Naples last fall. For the last 50 years he was a proud member of the Iron Worker’s Local union #549.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carl and Virginia Sponaugle and his brother, Thomas Leon Sponaugle.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lola Hudson Sponaugle; a daughter, Veronica (Thomas) Gorrell of Phenix City, AL; a son, John (Heather) Sponaugle of Naples; two sisters, Jean (Bill) Robinson of Beaver Creek, OH and Lois (Tom) Maracus of Myrtle Beach, SC and a brother, Ronald Sponaugle of New London, CT; two granddaughters, AnneMarie Patricia Gorell and Olivia Dawn Gorrell and two step-grandsons, Anthony Mercurio III and John R. Mercurio of Naples.

Kathryn Mehalic Janura, 79, of Wylie Ridge Road passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008.
She was born January 31, 1929 in Santiago, PAA, a daughter of the late Mary and Peter Mehalic. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John J. Janura, Sr. (June 25, 2000) and her twelve siblings.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Section.
She is survived by two daughters, Trina of Long Island, NY and Patricia of Las Vegas; a son, John Jr. and a grandson, Jeremy of New Cumberland.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Ronald Gesinger and Rev. Eric Antwi officiating. Interment followed a the New Cumberland cemetery.
The Turley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Terry L. Cain, 56, of Middlebourne passed away Monday, May 12, 2008 at his residence.
He was born July 28, 1951 in Steubenville, the son of Arthur D. and Wilda J. Kuhens Cain.
Terry was a 1969 graduate of Oak Glen High School and a former New Cumberland area resident. A chemical operator for Momentive Performance Materials, Terry was a member of the Tyler Rod and Gun Club, enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Steelton Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Carlo Pyles Cain; daughter, Christina Wilkinson and husband, William of New Martinsville; a son, Rosh Cain of Paden City; two step-daughters, Jessica and Rebecca Livingston of New Martinsville; two sisters, Patty Biondillo of Weirton and Beverly Shultz and her husband, Larry of Chester; two grandsons, William and Caleb Wilkinson; a nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Williams Funeral Home with Edward Melott officiating. Interment followed at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.

Clara “Bunny” Clark, 88, of New Cumberland passed away Monday, May 12, 2008.
She was born August 17, 1919,in Zalia, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ella Canner (*Canter) Vincent. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William McLaughlin; her second husband, Andrew Clark; a brother, John Vincent and two sisters, Pearle Cullen and Mable Fagen.
Bunny started out working as an aide, then became a cook a the Hancock County Children’s Home, and also cleaned homes. She was a member of the New Cumberland Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Myers and Husband Stephen of Oklahoma and Elizabeth “Betty” Skinner of New Cumberland; a son, William McLaughlin of New Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Barbara Bunch, Tommy Allen, Dale Allen, Chester Ray Martin, William A McLaughlin, Chick Skinner and Scott Skinner; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Thomas officiating. Interment followed at the Union Cemetery in New Manchester.

She was retired from Sherwin-Williams in Weirton. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the VFW Post #3526 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Dean Chamberlain, at home; three children, Debra Ann (Douglas) Carpenter of Millersport, OH, Randall Dean (Laura) Chamberlain of North Richland Hills, TX and Denise Diane (Matthew) Rowland of New Manchester; three brothers, Elmer Paul Swearingen, Hervey W. “Bill” (Patty) Swearingen and Robert (Dorothy) Swearingen, all of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren, Kregg Carpenter, Allison Carpenter, Dena Hannigan, Alan Milby, Julie Himpelmann, Tammy Vancamp, Bryan Rowland, Chance Rowland and Nicholas Rowland and six great-grandchildren.

Larry L. Nice, 55, of New Manchester passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
He was born August 12, 1952 in New Martinsville, a son of Harry Nice Jr. and Daisy Anderson Nice of New Manchester.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Nice; maternal grandparents, Vespur and Bertha Anderson and paternal grandparents, Harry and alma Nice.
He worked for 27 years as a tin mill operator at Weirton Steel. He was a member of the 25 Year Club and a Protestant by faith.
Larry is survived by a daughter, Brandy Nice and companion Jim Lyons of Paris; a son, Larry Nice of New Manchester; a step-daughter, Missy Guiro and husband Perry of New Manchester; a step-son, Michael Know and wife Lori of East Liverpool; two brothers, Tim Nice and wife Debbie and Rick Nice and companion Mary Greathouse; and a sister, Linda Stackpole, all of New Manchester.

Forest Leason Jenkins, 73, of Colliers, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008 at his residence.
He was born August 18, 1934 in Middlebourne, a son of the late James E. and Elsie (Mercer) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva J. (Smith) Jenkins; two brothers, Carl L. Jenkins and James Jenkins; a sister, Zetta Ash and a grandson, Justin Lee Jenkins.
He retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked as an electrician and or bridge operator for 35 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Weirton.
Surviving are three daughters, Laura Lee Sawon and Valerie Jean Tibbs, both of Colliers and Victory Lynn Hutchison of Weirton; six sons, Forest Leason Jenkins Jr., Neal Curtis Jenkins, Paul Micah Jenkins, John Alan Jenkins, Ckifford Ellis Jenkins and Daniel Dean Jenkins, all of Colliers; a sister Alice Haught of New Cumberland; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Turley Funeral Home with Elder John Duffield officiating.

Orpha Anderson, 87, of 361 Buckeye Ave., Wellsville, a former hot mill worker and potter, died Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Graystone Nursing Home in Wellsville where she had been a patient a year.
Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 17, 1880 in Jackson County, W. Va., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Anderson. He had resided in Wellsville the greater part of his life. He worked at the former American Sheet and Tin Plate Co. in Wellsville and after it closed in 1932 he worked in local potteries. His wife, Mrs. Sadie Anderson, died July 16, 1957.
He is survived by two sons, James A. Anderson of East Liverpool R. D. and Charles Anderson of Parkersburg, W. Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Eynon (Ruth) Friess of Glenmoor; two brothers, Forest Anderson of Belleville, W. Va., and Walter Anderson of Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Victoria Kerr of Parkersburg, 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. Robert H. Schondelmayer of the Wellsville First Christian Church. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

John F. Cairns, 83, of Martin St., Glenmoor, a retired potter, died this morning at 9:45 at City Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Salineville, Mr. Cairns was born May 17, 1884, a son of the late John Cairns and Mary Murray Cairns. He had resided in the East Liverpool area his lifetime and worked at the Homer Laughlin China Co., retiring 15 years ago.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Claire (Irene) Slagle of East Liverpool; a son, Frank F. Cairns, with whom he resided; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Phillips of Wellsville, Mrs. Eva Johnson of Beaver County and Mrs. Ann Kirkham of Sebring, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Lena Moore Richards, 79, a former resident of East Liverpool, were held at 1 p.m. at the Billow Falls Chapel in Cuyahoga Falls by Dr. Lloyd G. Schell. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery there.
Mrs. Richards died Tuesday at the Middlebury Manor Nursing Home in Akron after a lingering illness.
She was born in Pittsburgh in 1888 and had resided in East Liverpool for 27 years, where she owned and operated the Moore Beauty Sop for 18 years. She later moved to Summit County, where she lived for 27 years. Her last place of residence was Cuyahoga Falls.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls and a charter member of Krumroy Unit 1 Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dixie Nicholson, and a sister, Mrs. Louella Jennings both of Cuyahoga Falls, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Roy C. Masters, 54, of 800 Dresden Ave., an employe at the Potters Supply Co., for 20 years, died today at 5:55 a.m. at City Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born May 3, 1913, at Stop 9 in Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ollie Masters and Goldie Watson Masters. He had resided in the vicinity his lifetime. He was a pin maker at the supply company, and had last worked on Wednesday. He was a member of Local 41of the IBOP.
He is survived by two half-brothers, Dale Masters of Pennsboro, W. Va., and Charles Masters of East Liverpool; a half-sister, Mrs. Meryle Lara of East Liverpool, a niece and two nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

A retired potter, Mr. Daniels was born in Toronto, Feb. 16, 1885, a son of Josiah and Letitia Walker Daniels. He was a member of the former IBOP.
He leaves a son, Lester Elmer Daniels, and a daughter, Mrs. John (Beryl) Pillow, both of the Chester area; a sister, Mrs. Aletha Milby of Weirton, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wife Mrs. Ruth Kenney Daniels, died in 1962.
The Rev. Allan S. Fields of the New Cumberland Christian Church will officiate at the Tuesday services. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Manchester.

Mrs. Dorothy Mills Long, 56, wife of Fred A. Long, died Sunday noon at her home in Hammond Addition in Yellow Creek township, near Wellsville, following an illness of nearly a year.
Mrs. Long was born in Hemlock, W. Va., a daughter of the late Joshua W. Mills and Mrs. Lucy Bosworth Mills. She lived in East Liverpool for many years before going to Wellsville, where she had resided the last 14 years.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Long Blazer, at home; her step-mother, Mrs. Julia Mills of Wellsville; a brother, Everett C. Mills of Warren; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Arnette of Wellsville and Mrs. Michael Ciccarone of Farrell, Pa.; two step-brothers, Robert Compton of Hudson and Henry Compton of Alliquippa, Pa.
The body was taken to the MacLean Funeral Home, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. L. R. Carothers, pastor of the United Brethren Evangelical Church of Wellsville. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery.

A retired coal miner, he was the son of James and Elizabeth Adkins Mayes. He was born May 21, 1876, at Calcutta.
Mr. Mayes was married December 1899 to Gertrude Lambright, who died in 1946

LISBON – Services were held at the Henry Funeral Home this afternoon for the Rev. Clarence L. McCoy, 66, of 122 Green St. a retired, Presbyterian minister, who died Saturday afternoon at the Salem City Hospital.
He was admitted to the hospital Friday morning after an illness of six months.
A member of the Steubenville Presbytery, Rev. McCoy was graduated from Bethany College at Bethany, W. Va. He was born at Claysville, Pa., August 22, 1887, a son of Joseph and Amy Morris McCoy. He lived here for seven years.
A former resident of East Liverpool, he had been serving as a supply minister for the Bethel Church near Highlandtown.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jean Louage McCoy, at the home; three daughters, Miss Catherine McCoy at home, Mrs. Naomi Crinfield of Lisbon and Mrs. Lois White of Weirton, a step Mother, Mrs. Flora McCoy of Cleveland; two sisters, Mrs. G. W. Riggle of Lisbon and Mrs. H. L. Mellon of Newberry, Calif.; four half-sisters, Bessie Reynolds and Mrs. LeRoy Jackson of Detroit, Mrs. Verna Chenney of Washington, Pa., and Mrs. Reed Cain of Cleveland; four half-brothers, Lt. Herman McCoy of Norfolk, Va., Joseph McCoy and Elbin McCoy, both of Cleveland, and James McCoy of Detroit, and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Paul T. Gerrard of the Presbyterian Church officiated at the Service, along with the Rev. L. N. Lemmon of the Wellsville Presbyterian Church.

EAST PALESTINE – Mrs. Ella M. Roshon, 85, of 3160 N. Pleasant Dr., formerly of W. Clark St., died Saturday at 7 p.m. at East Liverpool Convalescent Center where she had resided for more than a year.
She had been ill for 18 months. Mrs. Roshon was born Aug. 31, 1898 in Chatham, Ohio, a daughter of Ernest Barnhart and Fanny Chapman Barnhart.
At one time she worked as a mold runner ft the former W. S. George Pottery. She was a member of the First Church of Christ. Her husband, C. Paul Roshon, whom she married March 12, 1913 preceded her in death Feb. E, 1949. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Viola Glossen, Mrs. Bonnie Ptlugh and Mrs. Evelyn Faulk, all of East Palestine, Mrs. Dorothy Totalaker of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Waunetta Hogue of Columbiana, a son, Robert A. Roshon of Rogers; 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren. City Pastor’s Father Claimed Suddenly

Fred Boardman Brunstetteer, 80 of Newton Falls, father of the Rev. Glenn A. Brunstetter of the Pennsylvania Ave. Methodist Church, died of a heart attack Friday at 12:30 p.m. while walking home from the business section of Newton Falls.
Mr. Brunstetter was born May 28, 1881, in Boardman. He was married 57 years ago yesterday- Feb. 2. 1905- to Mary Gautscki. He formerly resided at Phalanx Mills and had lived in Newton Falls 15 years. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Methodist Church. He had served as a member of the Braceville Township trustees for several years.
Survivors include his widow, four other sons, Harry F. Brunstetter and Harold H. Brunstetter, both of Warren and Delbert H. Brunstetter and Milford H. Brunstetter, both of Levittsbburg; a brother, Jerry Brunstetter of Warren and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the James Funeral Home at Newton Falls by the rev. Leonard Confar and the Rev. Theodore Brumbaugh. Burial will be in Braceville Cemetery.

Mrs. Minta Myers Campbell, 57, died suddenly at 11:30 p.m. Monday in the home of her son, William J. Campbell, at Erwin, Tenn. Mrs. Campbell lived at Shadyside ave. until going to Erwin three years ago.
She also is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald J. Moore of Brockway, Pa., and Miss Kathryn Campbell of East Liverpool, an five grandchildren.
The body will be brought to the Dawson funeral hoe for services. Arrangements are incomplete.

John Thomas Neville, who was employed as a potter at the Edwin M. Knowles China Co., died suddenly at 6:15 a.m. today in his home, 128 East Fourth st. He was 70.
He was born in East Liverpool and spent his entire lifetime in this community. Mr. Neville was a member of the Calvary Methodist church and the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sue T. Hadox Neville; a daughter, Mrs. George Morris of Chester; a step-son, Robert Hadox of Wellsville, and two grandchildren
Services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. from the Martin funeral home by Rev. John Dimit of Alliance. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery. Friends may call Thursday night at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sarah E. Stone, 71, widow of Frank Wallace Stone, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Cawood of Park Blvd., following a long illness.
Mrs. Stone was born in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Alexander B. and
Harriet Culp. She was a member of one of the district’s pioneer families, and lived a number of years at Empire. She moved to East Liverpool 20 years ago.
She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. E. W. McIlaine of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Cawood home Wednesday night. Burial will be Thursday in Toronto.

EAST PALESTINE – Dr. Wade Francis Boyle, 48, of Neely Manor Boulevard died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1993, of malignant melanoma following a brief illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh Feb. 6, 1945, a son of Mrs. Doris Shelton Boyleof Median and the late Herbert Lee Boyle.
Dr. Boyle had practiced wholistic medicine nine years in East Palestine since moving from Portland, Ore. Earlier, he practiced at the Mantell Clinic in Cranberry, Pa. He graduated from Medina High School in 1963, with awards in sports and academics. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the College of Wooster and his master of divinity degree at Hartford (Conn.) Seminary Foundation. In 1980, he received a bachelor of human biilogy degree at Kansas Newman College, Wichita, Kans., and in 1983, he earned his doctorate in naturopathic medicine at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland. He was Methodist by faith.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen S. Echard Boyle, whom he married March 7, 1980, three sons, Lee Boyle, Jack Boyle and Steve Boyle, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Carole) Wasnich of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mrs. William (Lee Ann) Heller of Wauwatosa, Wic.
The Rev. James K. Powell of the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Rev. David H. Conrad of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana are to conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at eh Centenary church. Burial is to be in Glenview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home form 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at the East Palestine church an hour before the services Friday.
