Mrs. Clara E. Jackson, 84, formerly of Westfield, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital this morning at 7: 30. she had been a patient at the Nentwick Nursin Home for 13 years.
She was born in Columbus July 27, 1889, a daughter of James E. roach and Cora Taynor Roach, and had resided in this area for 17 years. She attended the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene. Her husband Charles Jackson, died May 14, 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin W. Bird of Morgan, Pa., Ambrose A. Bird of Wintersville; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Lavender of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Louis (Gertrude Mae) Gulino of Aliquippa and Mrs. William (Mabel) Lehmer Bauer of Columbus; a half-sister, Mrs. Mabel Conley of Steubenville, 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Martin Funeral Home Wednesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Lonnie A. Baltz,. Burial will be in Calcutta United Presbyterian “Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and night.
