EAST LIVERPOOL – Harry “Mac” McHenry, 87, of Chester, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at East Liverpool City Hospital
Born in East Liverpool Dec. 7, 1918, son of the late Harry McHenry Sr. and Agnes Mort McHenry, he served with the U. S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Having lived most of his life in the area, he was a salesman for the former TS&T Pottery.
His wife, Jane Agnes McHenry, died preceded him in death, as did a stepson, John O’Brien, and two brothers.
A granddaughter survives.
Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home
Pastor Tom Schneidmiller will conduct services 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.

SALEM -- Mable Jennie McHenry, 89, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
She was born in East Liverpool, on Oct. 12, 1916, a daughter of the late John R. McHenry and Vernie Irene Whitacre Cornman.
She had attended Eruria Street Church of God.
Ms. McHenry is survived by a brother, Sid McKin of Akron, Ind,. and a sister, Rose Praugh of Baltimore, Md.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Robert McHenry.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, with Andy Price of the Salem Bible Church officiating.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Caroline Holman McHenry, of White Oak Manor, Rock Hill, S. C., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Piedmout Medical Center, Rock Hill, S. C.
A native of Coshocton, OH, McHenry was the daughter of the late Ronald a. Holman and Freda Yoho Holman. She was the widow of Edwin Lee McHenry and was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Aftanis.
She is survived by daughters Judy Sims, Marysville, TN; Barbara VanCamp, Rock Hill, S. C.; son, Chester McHenry, York, S. C.; brother Russell Holman, Weirton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at M. S. Ford and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Clover. S. C., conducted by the Rev. David Bender. The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday , Dec. 21, 2006, at Shadow Lawn Cemetery, Newell.

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mae McHenry of Ross Nursing Home, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at City Hospital following a brief illness.
She wa born in East Liverpool Nov. 5, 1914, a daughter of the late George S. and Lillie Twyford Miller.
A lifelong resident, she was a waredresser at the Homer Laughlin China Co. for 5o years. She was a Presbyterian.
Her husband, George R. McHenry, whom she married in 1943, died in February of 1989. She also was preceded in death by a son, George R. McHenry; and a brother and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Vera Jones of Salineville, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
No services or calling hours are planned

EAST LIVERPOOL – Larry E. Shasteen, 59, of Harvard Avenue, East Liverpool, with his family at his side, went to be wit his Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the Medical Center in Beaver, Pa. He was born on Sept. 22, 1948, in Aliquippa, Pa., a son of Arthur and Annabelle (Headley) Shasteen of Lisbon, Ohio.
Living his entire life in this area, he worked as an agent for Howard Hanna Real Estate until his retirement in 2004. He was a 1966 graduate of Beaver Local High School and a member of the Hope Christian Fellowship Church. Larry was very involved with the Columbiana County Junior Fair, the Columbiana County 4_H Program and the Saddle-Lites 4-H Club, but the love of his life were his two grandchildren.
Besides his parents, his wife, Kathryn (Olmstead) Shasteen, whom he married June 19, 1971, survives him at home, as well as two daughters; Krista Ann Strother and her fiancé Chas. Tressler Jr. of Greensburg, Pa., and Lisa Marie Slentz and her husband James Michael !! of Lisbon; one brother; Terry Shasteen of Llsbon; two sisters; Linda Ammon of Salem, and Patsy McLaughlin of Providence, R. I.; and his two grandchildren; Aidyn Strother and Albany Slentz.
A daughter, Melissa Sue Shasteen’ a son-in-law, Brian Strother and a brother; John Shasteen, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes today, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Ross of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family was present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

He was born in East Liverpool, April 28, 1953, a son of Arthur and Anna Bell Headley Shasteen of Lisbon.
He was employed as a welder at Reichard Industries in Columbiana. He attended the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Kendra Shasteen of Lisbon; a son, John Wayne Shasteen II of Florida; two sisters, Linda K. Ammon of Salem and Patsy Jean McLaughlin of Providence, R.I.: and two brothers, Terry Lee Shasteen of Rogers and Larry Edward Shasteen of Glenmoor.
Pastor William Lawson will conduct the services at 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later time.

EAST LIVERPOOL – Services are planned Tuesday for Mrs. Iladene McHenry, 64, of First Avenue, who was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 1990, at City Hospital. She had been ill since October.
She was born in East Liverpool Fev. 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Clyde Woomer and Myrtle Strotman Woomer.
Mrs. McHenry was employed 21 years in the reclaiming department at the Hall China Co before retiring in 1966. She graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1943. She was a member of the Etruria ‘Street Church of God, were she was secretary/treasure of the church and teacher of the Career Class. She had been the Sunday School superintendent 15 years before retiring in 1989. She also was a memberof the ladies auxiliary of the Community Rescue Mission.
Survivors include her husband, W. Kenneth McHenry, whom she married June 22, 1946; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Broadbent and Dolores Gacesa of East Liverpool
The Rev. Mitzy Wolfe and Basil Adkins are to conduct the services at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial is to be in Riverview Cemetery.

James H. McHenry, 75, of Smith St., Glenmoor, died Tuesday at 7:09 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh of a ruptured aortic aneurysm while undergoing surgery.
He was transported by helicopter to the Pittsburgh hospital from City Hospital where he was taken after his car went off the Y & O Rd, and hit a guardrail about 3:15 p.m.
The Lisbon Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said the mishap occurred in Madison Township. Officials at the Allegheny County (Pa.) Coronre’s office ruled the death from natural causes.
He was born June 5, 1910, in Salina, Pa., a son of the late James S. McHenry and Isabella Robinson McHenry.
A resident of the East Liverpool area since 1934, he had been employed as an automobile mechanic at Migliore Ford in Midland 22 years before retiring in 1974.
He attended the Euturia St. Church of God, and was a member of the Glenmoor American Legion.
His wife, Peggy McHenry, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Deloris) Hilty of Leechburg, Pa., and Mrs. James (Connie) Myers of Vandergrift, Pa.; two brothers, Kenneth McHenry and George Franklin McHenry of East Liverpool; two sisters, Margaret Shermenti of Saltsburg, Pa,, and Lillian Mae Reed of East Liverpool; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

He was born March 4, 1915, in Dayton, Pa., a son of the late John McHenry and Vernie Whittacre McHenry.
He had been employed in the Cold Strip Department at the former Crucible Steel Co., retiring in 1978. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 1212 and the Beaver County REACT.

(Nancy Lee) Nelson Jr. of Midland Heights, Mrs. Kirt (Thelma Jean) Colkitt of Negley and Linda Jo Ann McHenry of Aliquippa; two brothers, Clark McHenry of Jamestown, Pa., and Sid McKain of Kokomo, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Meggetts and Mabel McHenry of East Liverpool and Mrs. Rose Prugh of Atwood, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the D. L. Williams Funeral Home in Midland.
Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum in Daugherty Township, Pa.

EAST PALESTINE. – Jesse T. McHenry, 81, of 51 A. North Ave. died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Harmon Boarding Home in New Waterford where he had been a patient since August.
He was born June 27, 1903, in Brimfield, Ohio, a son of the Albert B. McHenry and Emma Hanes McHenry.
Mr. McHenry moved to this area in 1940 from Fredonia, Pa. He was a dragline operator with the Marshall Mining Co. of Youngstown for 27 years, retiring in 1963 due to ill health. He was a member of the East Palestine First United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Schaible McHenry, whom he married Sept. 29, 1926, at home; three sons, Mervin E. McHenry of Springfield, Ohio, Leslie E. McHenry of Richmond, Va., and Victor L. McHenry of Hot Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Mildred Eileen McHenry at home and Mrs. James (Aleta) Scanlon of Salem; 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services are to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home with the Rev. De. Barry M. Walker officiating. Burial is to be in Glenview Cemetery.

NEWELL – Everett H. Mercer, 77, of Newell, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006.
He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Congo, W. Va., the son of the late Homer and Elsie (Wilson) Mercer.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a graduate of Wells High School Class of 1946. He retired from Dravo Dredge Company where he worked as a deck hand. He was a member of the Chester American Legion Post 121.
He is survived at home by his wife, Delores “Jean” (Robinson) Mercer at home, two daughters, Cindy Wyand and husband, Mark of North Royalton, Ohio and Terri Welker and husband, Dennis, of Calcutta; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Ashley and Matthew. He also leaves behind a canine companion, Otis.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral home. Interment will follow at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens of Newell.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home.

A graduate of New Cumberland High School, she retired as a glazer from Homer Laughlin China Co. She was s member of the New Cumberland Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary and was a Protestant by faith.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Mumford, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Mercer of New Manchester, whom she married in 1962; eight sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Barb Clark of New Cumberland, James and Ada Clark of New Manchester, William and Rosie Mercer of Kentucky, Richard and Earlene Mercer of New Cumberland, Charles and Milly Mercer of New Cumberland, Joe and Debbie Mercer of New Cumberland, Bob and Lee Mercer of Fairview, Pa., and David and Debbie Mercer of Erie, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Denny (Betty Anne) Oldaker of New Cumberland; a twin sister Genevera Crago of New Cumberland; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a very special niece, Mrs. George (Twila) Beltram.

Services are to be held Tuesday for Charles W. “Jack” Mercer, 61, of Chester RD1 who died at 11:55 p.m. Friday a the Palm Beach Gardens Hospital following a sudden illness while on vacation.
He was born at the Mercer farm on Shepherds Valley Road near Chester July 19, 1923, a son of the late Wilson Mercer and Anna Douglas Mercer.
Mr. Mercer retired in May 1981 from the former Crucible Steel Division plant at Midland with 39 years’ service, and was a member of Local 1212 of the United Steelworkers of America. He served with the U. S. Army Air Force in World War II in Southeast Asia. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6450 and the East Liverpool YMCA.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Gilmore Mercer, whom he married in 1954, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Brenda) Inches of Moon Township, Mrs. Arland (Deborah) Lamp of Chester and Mrs. Scott (Linda) Smith of Fairfield, Ohio; a brother, Elmer Mercer of Chester; a sister, Teresa Leona Reed of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Arner Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Treese of Meadville, Pa., retired minister, officiating.
Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery.

He was born in Newell May 5, 1923, a son of the late Charles and Kate (Waddell) Mercer.
He retired from Cook Motor Freight (formerly YELP Freight) in East Liverpool as a truck driver. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Mae Smith Mercer.
He is survived by a son, Dale L. Mercer Jr. of East Liverpool; two daughters, Janet Bragg and Mrs. Norman (Patty) Stearns of East Liverpool; two brothers, Charles Mercer of Chester and Roy Mercer of New Orleans; two sisters, Eva Heft of Canton and Shirley Mercer of New Orleans; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the Eat Liverpool Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes Monday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Sturm of Rainbow Ministries officiating.
Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to the time of the services Monday.

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Zuda Beth Talbot Mercer, 83, of East Liverpool and Zephryhills died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at East Pasco Medical Center in Zephyrhills fo9llowing a short illness.
Born in Newell, W.Va., Feb. 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Thomas Fulton Talbot and Francis Elizabeth Summerhill Talbot, she was a member of the Longs Run Presbyterian Church.
Having lived most of her life in the area, she owned and operated the former Mercer’s Grocery along with her late husband. She later worked at Kaufmann’s Department Store in Rochester until she retired.
A member of the Business and Professional Women at one time she enjoyed camping, cards, watching television and spending time with her grandchildren. She also was an avid NASCAR fan.
Her husband, Forrest E. “Buck” Mercer preceded her in death, as did her companion Willard Christen, Jr.
A daughter, Mrs. Roxie (Cheryl) Belli of New Kensington, Pa., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Byers of East Palestine, and a stepson, David Christen and his wife Thelma of East Liverpool, survive.
There are 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
The Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

She was born March 12, 1926, in Ravenswood, W.Va., the daughter of the late Alto and Sarah (Hoschar) Rardon. Audrey graduated from Wellsville High School in 1944 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence “Bert” Mercer, whom she married February 16, 1946; four daughters, Shirley Wells and her husband Paul of Wellsville, Sally Long and her husband Bob of Wellsville, Amy McAdoo and her husband Kraig of East Palestine, Ohio, and Julie Johnston and her husband Dewey of Wellsville, two sons, Jim Mercer and his wife Debbie of Wellsville, and Eddie Mercer and his wife Robbin of Wellsville, Two sisters also survive; Pearl Justice of Salem and Olive Doland of Wellsville: along with 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Sayre, Vesla Stine and Kathryn Harvey; and three brothers, Edward Rardon, Kermit Rardon and Harold Rardon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville with Reverend Bruce Ballantine of the Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville.

NEWELL – Sarah Ellen Mercer, 87, of Grant Street, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at East Liverpool City Hospital, where she was a patient for two months.
Born in Carrollton, Ohio, Aug. 2, 1915, daughter of the late Joshua and Lucille Hilliard Chadwick, she was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple and attended Sunday School Class and the Jolly Sixties. She also was a member of the Glendale Church of the Nazarene, where she volunteered with mission work, taught vacation Bible school and was active with the bus ministry and the prayer chain. She also was a member of the True Blue Sunday School Class and the Joy Class.
A lifelong resident of the area, she worked at McCroy’s 5 & 10, as well as at the Homer Laughlin China Co.
Her first husband, Lawrence E. McCune, died July 11, 1942. Harry T. Wooley, her second husband also preceded her in death. Robert E. Mercer, her third husband whom she married Aug. 1, 1953, died May 17, 1993. A brother Edward T. Chadwick, and a grandson, Randy Allen Taylor, also preceded her in death.
Three daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Delores) Riddle and Mrs. Harold (Judy) Taylor, both of Newell, and Mrs. Larry (Donna) Griffin of Calcutta, survive along with two sons, Lawrence Ronald McCune and his wife, Patricia, of East Liverpool and Jerry H. McCuen and his wife, Sandy, of Winder, Ga.
There are 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

She was born at St. Marys, W.Va., Jan. 3, 1911, a daughter of the late James Higgins and Artie L. J. Lock Higgins.
A resident of East Liverpool since 1955, Mrs. Mercer was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple Church, and was a former member of the Jolly Sixties.
Her husband, Abraham Mercere, whom she married in 1943, died in 1958. She alos was preceded in death by a son, William F. Higgins.
Survivors include a son, Robert D. Higgins of East Liverpool; a daughter, Elenor (Mrs. Norval) Powell of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a stepson, Glen Mercer of Akron, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Rose Higgins of Chester; three sisters, Kathleen (Mrs. Paul) Davis and Winnie (Mrs. Smith) Shingleton of St. Marys and Lulubelle (Mrs. Gene) Henry of Parkersburg; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

WELLSVILLE – James R. Mercer, 70, of Eighteenth Street Heights, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 1995, at the East Liverpool Convalescent Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wellsville Jan. 5, 1925, a son of the late Isaac Leonard and Fannie Hall Mercer.
He was employed as a foreman at the former I. M. Knowles China Co. in Newell. He also was employed 23 years at Titanium Metals in Toronto before retiring.
He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1943. He was a member of the Convenant Presbyterian Church, past president of the Southern Ruritan Club and a member of the Yellow Creek Grange
He is survived by his wife, Donna Pelley Mercer, whom he married June 17, 1946; four daughters, Mrs. George (Sherry) Buchheit of Follansbee, W. VA., Mrs. Glenn (Susan) Blanton of Toronto, Mrs. William (Sandra) Croskey of Wellsville, and Mrs. Jay (Shelly) Gaumer of Wellsburg, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Mercer; and four brothers, Nathaniel Mercer, Charles Mercer and Harry Mercer.
The Rev. Bob French of the church will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery

EAST LIVERPOOL – Margaret Slider Mercer, 72, of Edwards Street died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Robert E. Boyce Pavilion following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Paden City, W. VA., Aug. 25, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Lucy Barcus Slider.
An area resident for more than 40 years, she was employed at Homer Laughlin China Co. as a brusher before retiring in 1988. She also worked at the Hot Dog Shoppe and Weirton Health Care Center. She was an honorary member of the Glass Molders Pottery Plastics & Allied Workers International Union.
Her husband, Charles E. Mercer, died Aug. 13, 1993. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Slider;’ and a granddaughter, Tabitha Godwin.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Sheila) Godwin of East Liverpool; a son, Charles D. Mercer of Wellsville; a grandson, Daniel Mercer, of East Liverpool, whom she raised; and two granddaughters.
The Rev. Tim Rohrbacher of the Campground Community Church will conduct the services at 10:30 Saturday at the Dawson Funeeral Home. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Part.

She was born Oct. 26, 1946, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Hughes Kiger.
She was a retired shop clerk for Mountaineer Gas Company. A member of the Weirton VFW Ladies Auxiliary and he New Manchester Christian Church.

She is survived by her loving family; her husband, Rick Mercer at home, whom she married in 1966; two daughters, Sheila Rawson and husband, Brian of New Cumberland and Jennifer Ewaskey and husband, Bill of Weirton; a son, Bub Mercer and his wife, Amy of Westover, W.Va. and six grandchildren, Jessica, Dustin, Chelsie, Tyler, Jacob and Courtney; a great-granddaughter, Madison; a brother, Jeff Hughes and wife, Theresa of Newell; a brother-in-law, Junior Beatty of New Manchester; and a special friend, Vonnie Virden of New Manchester.,
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with Minister Dave Detty officiating. Interment will follow at the New Cumberland Cemetery.

Born Oct. 27, 1914, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Inez Eddy Macelroy Coleman, he was an inspector with Armco Steel Co. retiring in 1977, and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Coleman; a daughter, Joyce Coppenrath, Quincy, Mass., a grandson, Robert Hutchinson, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Rene, New Kensington.

Born Aug. 2, 1905, in Monaca, a daughter of the late Sidney and Lenora Mateer Huffmyer, she was a retired nurse having trained at Pontiac Hospital, Pontiac, Mich.; a member of the North Branch Presbyterian Church, and the Aliquippa Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond P. Hineman; a grandson, Randel S. Ewing, and a great-granddaughter, Marley Katherine Ewing, both of Caracas, Venezuela; several nieces and nephews, Sidney and Margie Huffmyer, Monaca; Larry and Margie Miller, in Florida; James Miller, William and Sue Nielson, Donna and Paul Mundell and Michaelee Arthurs, all in California.
She was preceded in death by a son, G. Sidney Ewing in 1963; a brother, George W. Huffmyer, in 1972; a sister, Anna in 1975, and her stepmother, Gula Z. Baker, in 1984.

Born April 26, 1906, in Woodlawn, Pa., a son of the late James Seward and Eva Maratte Hineman, he was a retired corporate officer and manager of Mellon Bank, Aliquippa.
He attended the University of Pittsburgh, and numerous banking institutes. He was a member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian, Church, Aliquippa; a 50-year member & past master of Woodlawn Lodge 672 F&AM; the Valley of Pittsburgh, Syria Temple and BPOE 1221 Aliquippa.
He was past president of the following: Beaver County Bankers Association, Pittsburgh Conference of National Association of Bank Auditors & Controllers and the Aliquippa Hospital Association, of which he was one of the founding members, and also treasurer from its inception until 1968. He served as treasurer of the Logstown District Boy Scouts of America for numerous years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Huffmyer Ewing Hineman, in April, 1993; a daughter, Mary Claire Gilmore in 1992, and a brother and a sister.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Rambaugh, Wheaton, Ill.; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lulu Giffin, widow of Rev. Joseph Wilson Giffin, who died at her home in Cleveland Monday, were held Thursday afternoon in the First United Presbyterian church in Cleveland. Burial was there.
Rev. Giffin was pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Wellsville form 1909 to 1912. Before going to Wellsville he was pastor of the United Presbyterian church at Elizabeth, Pa., for about 10 years. He was pastor of the Cleveland church when he retired. He died about five years ago.
Mrs. Giffin is survived by one son, Plummer D. Giffin of Cleveland, and a daughter, Miss Mary E. Giffin of New York.

Living his entire life in this are, he last worked as a clerk at Ace Hardware in Columbiana, before his retirement in 1998. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and served with the U. S. army during Vietnam.
His wife, Beverly (Thomas) Hampson, whom he married on Jan. 15, 1965, died on June 18, 1994.
One son, Robert C. Hampson of Calcutta; one brother Joseph Hampson of Winona, Ohio; one sister; Deborah Morris of Calcutta; and two grandchildren, survive him.
Services are 11 a.m. today at the Calcutta Chapel of Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes with Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

She was born in Lisbon July 1, 1915, a daughter of the late Fred Reese SR. and Myrtle Ashman Reese.
Mrs. Clapsaddle live her lifetime in Lisbon, and had been a cook 10 years for the Lisbon School System before retiring in 1976 form the Lincoln School.. She was a member and had served as an elder and a deacon of the St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Sunshine Club, the Women’s Guild, the church choir, the Lanplighter Class and the Mt. Nebo Grange.
Her husband, Kenneth R. Clapsaddle, whom she married Dec. 6, 1944, died June 10, 1987.
She is survived by a son, Brian Clapsaddle of Lisbon; a brother, Fred Reese Jr. of Annapolis, Md.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Reese, and a sister, Ruth Clark.
Minister Karl L. Bucey, interim pastor of the church is to conduct services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Lisbon Cemetery.

Death Of Frank Andrews Is Ruled Suicide By Devon

Frank Andrews, 62, of Georgetown died today at 11:05 in City hospital from a 22 caliber rifle would in his right temple, termed suicide by County Coroner Arnold W. Devon.
Mr. Andrews, a former oil field worker, shot himself early today in the kitchen of his home after his wife left to feed the chickens, Mr. Devon said. Mrs. Andrews told the coroner her husband was unable to work since March, when he suffered a slight stroke that impaired the use of one leg.
Yesterday, a Pittsburgh physician told Mr. Andrews he would have to rest about a year before returning to work, his wife told Mr. Devon.
Mrs. Andrews told the coroner her husband was replacing a broken knob on a small dressing table when she left the house. She heard a shot and returned to find his body on the floor, she said.
The body was removed to the Stewart funeral home in Hookstown. Besides his wife, Mr. Andrews leaves two sons.
