ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Zuda Beth Talbot Mercer, 83, of East Liverpool and Zephryhills died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at East Pasco Medical Center in Zephyrhills fo9llowing a short illness.
Born in Newell, W.Va., Feb. 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Thomas Fulton Talbot and Francis Elizabeth Summerhill Talbot, she was a member of the Longs Run Presbyterian Church.
Having lived most of her life in the area, she owned and operated the former Mercer’s Grocery along with her late husband. She later worked at Kaufmann’s Department Store in Rochester until she retired.
A member of the Business and Professional Women at one time she enjoyed camping, cards, watching television and spending time with her grandchildren. She also was an avid NASCAR fan.
Her husband, Forrest E. “Buck” Mercer preceded her in death, as did her companion Willard Christen, Jr.
A daughter, Mrs. Roxie (Cheryl) Belli of New Kensington, Pa., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Byers of East Palestine, and a stepson, David Christen and his wife Thelma of East Liverpool, survive.
There are 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
The Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
