NEW CUMBERLAND -- Earlene J. Mercer, 58, of New Cumberland, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005.
She was born Oct. 26, 1946, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Hughes Kiger.
She was a retired shop clerk for Mountaineer Gas Company. A member of the Weirton VFW Ladies Auxiliary and he New Manchester Christian Church.
Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by a sister, Vikie Beatty.
She is survived by her loving family; her husband, Rick Mercer at home, whom she married in 1966; two daughters, Sheila Rawson and husband, Brian of New Cumberland and Jennifer Ewaskey and husband, Bill of Weirton; a son, Bub Mercer and his wife, Amy of Westover, W.Va. and six grandchildren, Jessica, Dustin, Chelsie, Tyler, Jacob and Courtney; a great-granddaughter, Madison; a brother, Jeff Hughes and wife, Theresa of Newell; a brother-in-law, Junior Beatty of New Manchester; and a special friend, Vonnie Virden of New Manchester.,
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with Minister Dave Detty officiating. Interment will follow at the New Cumberland Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home.
