EAST LIVERPOOL – Larry E. Shasteen, 59, of Harvard Avenue, East Liverpool, with his family at his side, went to be wit his Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the Medical Center in Beaver, Pa. He was born on Sept. 22, 1948, in Aliquippa, Pa., a son of Arthur and Annabelle (Headley) Shasteen of Lisbon, Ohio.
Living his entire life in this area, he worked as an agent for Howard Hanna Real Estate until his retirement in 2004. He was a 1966 graduate of Beaver Local High School and a member of the Hope Christian Fellowship Church. Larry was very involved with the Columbiana County Junior Fair, the Columbiana County 4_H Program and the Saddle-Lites 4-H Club, but the love of his life were his two grandchildren.
Besides his parents, his wife, Kathryn (Olmstead) Shasteen, whom he married June 19, 1971, survives him at home, as well as two daughters; Krista Ann Strother and her fiancé Chas. Tressler Jr. of Greensburg, Pa., and Lisa Marie Slentz and her husband James Michael !! of Lisbon; one brother; Terry Shasteen of Llsbon; two sisters; Linda Ammon of Salem, and Patsy McLaughlin of Providence, R. I.; and his two grandchildren; Aidyn Strother and Albany Slentz.
A daughter, Melissa Sue Shasteen’ a son-in-law, Brian Strother and a brother; John Shasteen, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes today, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Ross of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family was present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
