LISBON – Mrs. Freida I. Clapsaddle, 77, formerly of West Washington Street, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 1993, at the Salem Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Lisbon July 1, 1915, a daughter of the late Fred Reese SR. and Myrtle Ashman Reese.
Mrs. Clapsaddle live her lifetime in Lisbon, and had been a cook 10 years for the Lisbon School System before retiring in 1976 form the Lincoln School.. She was a member and had served as an elder and a deacon of the St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Sunshine Club, the Women’s Guild, the church choir, the Lanplighter Class and the Mt. Nebo Grange.
Her husband, Kenneth R. Clapsaddle, whom she married Dec. 6, 1944, died June 10, 1987.
She is survived by a son, Brian Clapsaddle of Lisbon; a brother, Fred Reese Jr. of Annapolis, Md.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Reese, and a sister, Ruth Clark.
Minister Karl L. Bucey, interim pastor of the church is to conduct services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the memorial fund at the church.
