INDUSTRY. – Richard C. McHenry, 70, of Middle Rd, died Monday morning at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born March 4, 1915, in Dayton, Pa., a son of the late John McHenry and Vernie Whittacre McHenry.
He had been employed in the Cold Strip Department at the former Crucible Steel Co., retiring in 1978. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 1212 and the Beaver County REACT.
He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Cogley McHenry, at home; three sons, William Richard McHenry of East Liverpool, John Donald McHenry of Hookstown and Daiid Ronald McHenry, at home; six daughters, Mrs. Gary. R. (Bertha Irene) Barley of Beaver Falls, Mrs. Richard (Frances Marie) Hubbard of Columbiana, Mrs. Robert (Betty Arlene) Sentz of Smiths Ferry, Mrs. George L. (Nancy Lee) Nelson Jr. of Midland Heights, Mrs. Kirt (Thelma Jean) Colkitt of Negley and Linda Jo Ann McHenry of Aliquippa; two brothers, Clark McHenry of Jamestown, Pa., and Sid McKain of Kokomo, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Meggetts and Mabel McHenry of East Liverpool and Mrs. Rose Prugh of Atwood, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the D. L. Williams Funeral Home in Midland.
Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum in Daugherty Township, Pa.
Friends may call a the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
