Services will be held Sunday for Gail C. Herron, 63, Salem businessman and civic leader, who died Thursday at Northern Columbiana County Community Hospital after a heart attack
Mr. Herron of 955 Southeast Blvd., president of Herron Transfer Co., was a past president of the Salem Board of Education, the Salem Kiwanis Club, Shrine Club and Chamber of Commerce.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Lois Dilworth, he is survived by three sons, Dr. Gail Herron Jr., Atty. Robert Herron and Gary Herron of Salem; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Freeman of Glenmoor; three brothers, Rolin Herron, Arthur Herron and Denton Herron of Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Birkhimer of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. John O’Neil of Ashtabula, and six grandchildren.
Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Stark Memorial in Salem, with Dr. Lawrence Chamberlain of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
