EAST LIVERPOOL – W. Kenneth McHenry, 77, of First Avenue died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Salina, Pa., April 5, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Isabelle Robinson McHenry.
An area resident most of his life, he retired from the former Crucible Steel Co. in 1982 after working 41 years as a bricklayer. He served with the U. S. Army in the South Pacific with the 6th Division in the 1st Infantry during World War II. He was a member of the Eutruria Street Church of God.
His wife, Iladene Woomer McHenry, whom he married June 22, 1946, died in March 1990. He also was preceded in death by a brother, James McHenry.
He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Shermenti of Saltsburg, Pa., and Mae Reed of East Liverpool; and a brother, George Frank McHenry of East Liverpool. He also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Broadbent and Delores Gacesa with whom he resided for the last two months.
The Rev. Mitzi Wolfe of the church will conduct the services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military honors graveside at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call a the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
