Alice M. Flower
Died April 18, 2004
EAST LIVERPOOL – Alice M. Flower, 95, of the Fox Nursing Home, formerly of Meadow Road, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a long illness.
Born in East Liverpool, April 26, 1908, daughter of the late William and Martha Walters Werling, she was affiliated with the Oakland Free Methodist Church as well as holding membership at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Diakonia Class.
A lifelong resident of the area, she owned and operated the former Mayflower Beauty Shop in the former Potters Savings & Loan Building for nearly 25 years. She later worked at the former D. M. Ogilvie’s Department Store.
She was a member of the Travelers Club.
Her husband, W. Blair Flower, died May 30, 1984. three sisters, Minnie Mumaw, Hazel Wilson and Ludella Walker, and two brothers, Frank and Arthur Werling, also preceded her in death.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Friends may call today at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6. to 8 p.m.
The Rev. Mike Kramer of the Oakland Free Methodist Church will conduct services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Oakland Free Methodist Church, 1551 Etruria St., East Liverpool, OH 43920
