LISBON – Northa Lucille Backer, 72, of Oak Street, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Salem Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Backer was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Jamestown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rosa Mae (Harness) Adams.
She and her husband worked in apartment maintenance in Bedford Heights in Bedford, Ohio until her retirement.
Her husband, Harold Backer, survives her.
She is also survived by her daughters, Deborah Lynne Eagan of Seven Valleys, Pa., Melody Ann Mercer of Winona and holiday Sue Frost of Boardman; one grandson; three step-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Friends Church of Salem with the Rev. Peter Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and also one hour prior to /services Wednesday at the church.
