MRS. MRRIS (sic) GRIST

Mrs. Elizabeth Grist, 66, of 3624 West street, died in Weirton General Hospital at 7:20 a. m. today, only a few minutes after having suffered a heart attack at her home.

She was born on March 8, 1888, to the late James C. and Sarah Ann Jones in Clydeh, Swansea, Wales, and was married on July 22, 1909 in Steubenville. Mrs. Grist came to Weirton from Steubenville thirty-one years ago. She was a member of Cove Presbyterian Church, Weirton Woman’s Club of Steubenville.

She leaves: her husband, Morris; sons, Clifford C. of Weirton and Edwin J. of Follansbee; three grandchildren; and brothers, Cornelius Jones of Steubenville, and Dr. John Jones of Los Angeles, Calif., a heart specialist who performed the first heart operation telecast all over the country. A brother, Edwin, died in Erie Pa., six years ago, and a brother, Dr. Thomas C. Jones, a cancer specialist and one of the top staff surgeons at Cleveland Clinic, died five years ago.

Friends will be received in the Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home late this evening. Services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. A Ferman Kearney, D. D. in charge. Burial will be in the Jones family plot at the Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
