Miss Sadie Anderson Devers

The East Liverpool Tribune

Mrs. Sadie Anderson Devers died at an early hour yesterday morning (Mar. 21, 1906) at the home of her sister, Mrs. Rebecca T. Blockson, Lisbon, after a few days' illness from grip. Mrs. Devers was born in Lisbon 64 years ago and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson, who early residents of Columbiana county. Her father was one of the pioneer superintendents of schools in the town of Lisbon, and Mrs. Devers herself was a teacher.

Early in the sixties she was married to Frederick Devers, of Eat Liverpool, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Devers, of the well known Ohio house in Second street. The marriage was not a happy one and Mr. Devers soon afterward enlisted and went to war. About the close of the war they were divorced, and Mrs. Devers has since made her home at Lisbon. Edward Devers, her only son, died about ten years ago. Mr. Devers married again and is now living in Texas. He has been in this section only once since the close of the war and that was a few years ago when he visited relatives in this city.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Blockson.
