SALEM - James P. Cavanaugh, 74, brother of Charles
Cavanaugh former member of the Columbiana County
Election Board and a Salem Councilman elect, died
Thursday at 7pm in his home at 337 East Third Street
following a year's illness.
He was born in Tyrone, Ireland February 23, 1868
and came to America when he was 4. He has resided in
Salem for 40 years.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Sarah Cavanaugh, two
sons, James Cavanaugh of Salem, a deputy in the office
of the County Auditor Ross Tisher and John Cavanaugh
of Hartford, Conn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9am in St.
Patrick's Catholic Church by Rev. Father Joseph Mahan.
Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
