Helen Louise Kinsey, 93

EAST LIVERPOOL — Longtime Christian educator Helen Louise Kinsey, 93, of Lang Street, East Liverpool, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at the Calcutta Health Care Center.

Born on Aug. 9, 1914, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Thresa Marietta and Wilkie Collin Kinsey.

A 1932 graduate of East Liverpool High School, she attended Eastern Nazarene College and the Moody Bible Institute and was also a graduate of Geneva College. She taught Christian Education in the East Liverpool City Schools in the 1940's before embarking on a career of teaching and ministering to schools and churches across the country. She taught and was a director of Christian Education, having spent 20 years in Racine, Wis., before returning to East Liverpool in 1989.

At one time, she had been a member of the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Miss Kinsey in death were three sisters, Mary Jane Heffern, Minnie Hyder, and Ruth Sanford. There were also six brothers, Collin Kinsey, Harry Kinsey, Wilkie Kinsey, Donald Kinsey, Ray Kinsey and Robert Kinsey.

Services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Vel Vais of the church officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
