Lloyd Babb

Lloyd W. Babb, 56, of 441 W. 4th St., an English teacher at the East Liverpool High School, died Sunday at 10 p. m. at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center after a brief illness.

He was born here July 13, 1910, a son of the late Ira A. Babb and Emma McGaffick Babb. He was graduated in 1928 from the local high school. He attended Asbury College, where he received his AB degree in 1937, and Kenyon College for one year. In 1953, he received the master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. He taught biology at Galion Senior High School and also taught English and assisted in the library at a school in Illinois. He also taught speech and worked in the library at Defiance (Ohio) High School. He returned to East Liverpool in 1961.

Mr. Babb was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and the East Liverpool Kiwanis Club, where he served as a Key Club adviser.

He is survived by three brothers, Alvin T. Babb and Edwin L. Babb, both of East Liverpool, and Herman J. Babb of Hubbard, and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a. m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Russell Mase of Canton, former pastor of the Emmanuel Church. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday.
