James H. Whitney, 81, retired potter, died today at 11 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert ? Stephens, 1881 Harvey Avenue, following a year's illness.
Mr. Whitney was born in Monroe County, and was a resident of East Liverpool for the last 54 years. He was a member of the First Church if CHrist and the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters.
He is survived by a son, Rhallie Whitney of Sebring Ohio, one other daughter, Mrs. Mary Dawson of East Liverpool; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Sullivan of Barnsville, and Mrs. Sara Coffer of Athens and eight grandchildren.
Services will be in Columbiana County Memorial park.
Friends may call at the Martin Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and night.
