New Cumberland -- Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Fields Funeral Home on Ridge Ave. for Dr. William Dale Williams, 75, of RD 1, a dentist.
He was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday afternoon at Weirton General Hospital after an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, Jan. 29, 1897, a son of Theodore Robert and Blanche Martindale Williams. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pilgrim Masonic Lodge 691, Valley of Steubenville Orient of Ohio and was a 32nd degree Mason.
Dr. Williams was a member of rthe West Virginia and American Dental Associations and the Wheeling Dental Society. He was a charter member of the Steubenville Lions Club and past governor of District 29 L of West Virginia Lions Club. He was a member of the Chester American Legion Post.
He was a former member of the Hancock County school board, with 20 years of service, and served on the staff of Weirton General Hospital and Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Iva Mae Williams at home; a son, William Dale Williams of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. James (Ann) Favret of Columbus, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The rev. Russell Lowther and the Rev. Alan S. Fields of New Cumberland will officiate a the Tuesday services. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, New Manchester.
