Clyde Allison Geer, 77
NEW CUMBERLAND -- Clyde Allison Geer, 77, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003.
He was born June 8, 1926, in New Cumberland, a son of the late Paul O. and Cecil Keeper Geer.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired as an auto body teacher for both Oak Glen High School and the Vo-Tech Center for Hancock County Schools. He was owner of Geer’s Autobody and a member of the Chester V.F.W. and the American Legion of Chester. He was Protestant by faith.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mehaffey Geer.
He is survived by his three sons, Roscoe “Butch” Geer and his wife, Thelma of New Cumberland, Kenneth Geer and his wife, Marsha of Austintown, and Clyde “Sonny” Geer of East Liverpool; two daughters, Connie Clark and her husband, Richard of New Cumberland, Peggy Patterson and her husband, Richard of Chester; eight grandchildren, Russell Geer, Susan Geer Kindler, Megan Wycoff, Adam Geer, Ashley Geer, Ashley Clark, Amanda Clark, and Steven Mehaffey; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Talbot of Murrysville, Ohio, Martha Streets and Mabel Mink of Chester.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with Pastor John Mehaffey officiating. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military services.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
