Funeral of J. W. Toland
Impressive services were held last night at the home of the late Rev. J. W. Toland, corner of Main and Eighth streets, Wellsville. Dr. Charles Manchester, presiding elder of the Steubenville district, assisted, by the Rev. Alfred Walls, of Steubenville, officiated. The Rev. A. Vandersall, of the First Evangelical church, of Wellsville, represented the ministerial association of the city, and read the resolutions of respect adopted at their meeting.
The Rev. A. J. Bower, of Steubenville, read the scripture lesson and the Rev. T. W. Lane, of East Liverpool, offered prayer. The choir of the Methodist Episcopal church sang two favorite hymns of the pastor, “Abide With Me” and “Lead Kindly Light.” The floral offerings were many.
The remains will be taken to Coshocton this morning for burial.
