WELLSVILLE – Betty J. Freeman, 82, a resident of the Calcutta Health Care Center and formerly of Wellsville, died Thursday morning, Jan. 19, 2006, in the emergency room at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
She was born Jan. 5, 1924, in Newell, a daughter of the late John and Verna Smith Cornell.
Betty was owner and operator of the former Betty’s Grocery Store in Wellsville.
Her husband, Robert Freeman Sr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter. Brenda Galvin of Mullica Hill, N.J.; one son, Robert Freeman of Wellsville; two brothers, John Cornell and Eldred Cornell both of Chester; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Wellsville Church of the Nazarene presiding. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery..
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
