Miss Mary Howell, 70, resident of Wheeling for the past 40 years, died yesterday at 3:45 p.m. in Wheeling hospital where she had been a patient for eight days.
Born in Steubenville, December 28, 1879, a daughter of the late Eli and Sarah Baker Howell, she spent her early life in Colliers. She resided at 1228 National road.
Miss Howell was a member of the Colliers Christian church and had attended Vance Memorial Presbyterian church while living in Wheeling. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen at Steubenville.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Mackey, of Steubenville, Miss Julietta Howell and Miss Mabel Howell, both of Colliers, two brothers, Ross of Akron, O., and Howard Howell of Colliers.
Friends will be received at the James funeral home, 1245 Main street, Follansbe after 5 p.m. today. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Allen S. Fields of New Cumberland will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John’s cemetery.
