Robert R. Watson, 46, of Commerce Street, Wellsville died Thursday at 6:13 p.m. at City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Portalnd, Ohio, a son of Wallace Watson of East Palestine and Eunice Wynema Larkins Watson of East Liverpool.
Mr. Watson had been employed 20 years as a forklift operator at the Reliance Electric Co. Pump Division at Columbiana before the plant closed in December 1986, and had served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He was the leader of the Country Vibrations Band and a member of the American Federation of Musicians.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Mercer Watson, whom he married March 31, 1964, a son, Robert Troy Watson, at home, two stepsons, Danny Saracco of Wellsville and Randall Saracco of East Liverpool; two stepbrothers, Dale Reese of Sweden, and Brian Reese of Winchester, Ky.; a half-brother, the Rev. Curtis Watson of Winchester; a sister, Mrs. John (Bonnie) Wilkes of East Liverpool; twos stepsisters, Mrs. George (Vickie) Heller of East Palestine and Mrs. John (Sharon) Sharo of Youngstown; and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Robert Hull of the House of Prayer is to conduct services Monday at 11 a.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
