TORONTO – Saturday services are planned for Fred Taylor, 70, of Daniels Street who died Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at home follow a lengthy illness.
He was born in Irondale May 18, 1916, a son of the late Frederick G. Taylor and Emma Peters Taylor McIlvain.
Mr. Taylor was retired from the strip steel department at the Weirton Steel Co., and was a member of its 25 Year Club. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American License Plate Collectors Association. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Snyder Taylor, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Vicki) Smith of Toronto; two sisters, Mrs. William (Nancy) Beswick and Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Johnson of Toronto; and two grandchildren.
The Rev. Richard Kantz is to conduct the services at 11 a.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Union Cemetery.
Friends may call a the funeral home this afternoon and evening.. His favorite charity was the Muscular Dystrophy Association
