Harriette Rockwell, 78, Retired Teacher
HUNTINGTON, W Va. – Services are planned Friday for Mrs. Harriette Ann Rockwell, 78, of 1218 Ninth St., formerly of Chester, who died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 1990, at home.
She was born July 5, 1912, at Hartford, W. Va., a daughter of the late Robert Embleton and Hattie Stone Embleton.
A retired Hancock County school teacher and a graduate of Marshall University, Mrs. Rockwell resided about 16 years in Huntington. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, League of Women Voters, Tri-State Peace Fellowship, A. A. U. W., Huntington Track Club, Church Women United, Retired Teachers Association and the UNICEF Committee of Huntington.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela E. Rockwell of Charleston, W. Va.; a sister Mary E. Harper of Chester; two brothers, Robert Embleton of Point Pleasant, W. Va., and Paul Embleton of Richmond, Ind., and two grandchildren.
The Rev. Ronald R. Brooks and the Rev. Jan Thornton are to conduct the services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary.
Graveside services are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of Huntington or branches of Domestic Violence Shelter.
