ISIAH JAMES - Obituary

Isiah James, aged 56 years, one of he most prominent residents of Wellsville, died Monday of paralysis and heart trouble. Deceased was born in Richmond, O., coming to Wellsville when still a small boy, and becoming a fireman on the railroad, has been on the railroad, has been on the railway ever since, being one of the old reliable engineers on the C. & P. Ry.

He leaves a wife, Mrs. Alice James, and two children, Miss Sophia and John of Washington, D. C. Two sisters and two brothers survive him – William James, of Huntsville, George James, of Chicago, Mrs. William Monaghan, of Cleveland, and Mrs. John Apple, of Wellsville. He was a member of Wellsville chapter, 55, R. A. M. He was also a member of the railroad brotherhood and had held a seat in the Wellsville City Council for some years. The Masons took charge of the funeral services, which were held today. ( Spring Hill)
